What are the little metal tin style wallets like?
Are they actually practical or do you spend ages fumbling to get stuff out?
They are totally practical. I'd say more practical than a wallet because they're more compact. Obviously there's a limit to how many cards you can carry.
I put it in my right pocket with my keys, with my phone in the other pocket. You can get noise from keys against the metal, kind of like having change in your pocket - but I have a club card key ring and that acts as a buffer.
I store:
- driving license id card
- debit card
- credit card
- 2-3 notes
If you under-fill it you get a little rattle as your cards move around, so you want to go to the cash point and get more notes if you spend them - or you can double fold the notes. I find that I use my credit card 90% of the time anyway.
To retrieve a card that's not the top card you take the top card and use the corner of it to lift the other cards - sounds more tricky then it is, it's very easy.
