Letter through "Notice of Intended Prosecution" Average cam on M'way

I think the primary thing the OP is asking is if the NIP he has received is legit or not. Tbh, I'd be wary too just because that address isn't a very official looking address, and would probably be concerned enough to ask.

That address is perfectly normal, I have a very similer letter sitting here from the Norwich Safety Camera Unit :p

I'm sure it's one of the Plethora of fake Nip's you get these days which co-incidently ask you to return it to what indeed is the correct address for that safety camera partnership.

What's wrong with the address? ( I used to live near ponty, so it doesn't scream 'that looks stupid' to me)
Surely he would google the address, rather than ask? :P

i wouldnt be suprised if he was one of these people that slow down for the actual camera, then speed up till they get to the next one over and over.

average speed cams dont work like a normal flashing one

Odd thing to assume, given that by actively dropping the speed to be under 50 for the camera would mean a longer period of slower driving, which in turn would drop the average speed.

But if you do 90 between the cameras, slam the brakes on at the camera, and then floor it after, your average is well above 50. You'll only average 50 if you do 50. ;)

i think theres usually about 2 miles between cameras.(total guess) so if you do 2 miles at say 80. and 1/8 mile at 40 your avg is still going to be higher then 50

Have you ever even driven along a SPECs monitored road?

He says he was the driver at the time and is looking for loopholes. He could always post a copy of the letter and form for us to see if he thought it was a fake.

Do you think I would risk accelerating in between these camera's when I pass the 2-3 mile stretch of them two times a day?

I think not.
