Levis jeans

Why would your jeans smell?

I don't know haha, I have just never worn anything more than a week without washing it!

I walk 5 miles in them each day. And that's outside the office, inside I'm up and about all the time. I get the train and sit on those seats that probably haven't been washed in 15 years.

I guess I should leave them and see what happens! I am a bit of a clean freak.

Also, anyone know the reason for washing jeans inside out? I do it religiously and always hang dry them. But don't know why...

I have never gone that long without a wash. I'm always scared they start to smell haha.

I was like you, every week i was washing my jeans more or less. What a i found and when i asked a couple of guys in my local g star shop is that washing them too often tends to weaken the denim/fabric and thats why i was finding my jeans starting to fray around the crotch and my pockets were starting to get holes in them due to washing them too often.

I dont know if there is any truth in what they said but i have found that now washing my jeans every few mths, has made them last a lot longer and i no longer get holes in my pockets:p

Again taking a guess its probably to stop the colour from fading too much and again causing the denim to fray. Ive always washed my jeans inside out and left them to hang dry rather than shoving them in the dryer.

Dont know if anyone can answer or confirm this but ive been told that to get the best fit on jeans, you should be able to get your whole fist in between your belly and the top of the jeans ie your fist shouldnt slide in easily but it should be a bit of a struggle to get your fist in there.

Is that true or just codswallop??

I only buy mine from outlet stores, usually 2 for £80-90. There's one down in Portsmouth, or you could try the one in Bicester Village.

Edit - 501s all the way.

Just be careful of mirrors at Bicester.

I flirt between 501s and 512s (boot cut, for when I'm feeling dykey). Also been very impressed with Pepe Jeans.

501 32 34s for me! They are brilliant, spent £85 on a pair the other day, ouch. But I have about 4 pairs now, they last and are nicely fitted. :)

I have owned Levi's, Diesel, All Saints, DKNY, Ted Baker, Duck and Cover, G-Star, GAP, Animal and a couple of indie designer jeans and my favourite by far are my All Saints. Price wise they are on the same level as Diesel/Levi's but their fit is much nicer.

Diesel run a very close second, I have about 6 pairs of them in various cut/styles.

Levi's do last, I give you that but I have so many it is hard to tell (I can just as easily make the conclusion that they all last) since I rotate them round so no particular pair goes through a long period of use before I move on.

I currently have 501's and they are excellent however they seem to have a very small leg opening (cuff?) at the bottom which im not fond of, looks silly with certain shoes, would prefer something wider. Was going to take a trip to the outlet store and get see if I could try on and get a few cheap pairs but its bloody closed down
