LG 34GK950G, 3440x1440, G-Sync, 120Hz

I was about to order but then noticed the GSync model has less features than the freesync model in the TFTCentral review including no blur reduction backlight strobing. I'm not compromising when this is so much more expensive than the competition and still more expensive than the freesync model despite less features.

There aren't any gsync monitors with those features south of $2000+++ and won't be anytime soon. They need to use the more advanced gsync module, the one which supports HDR and has active cooling, and it is much more expensive.

knowing nvidia it cost £100 to manufacture but nvidias tax of premium is 400%

I wish they went with the new g-sync module. It seems almost all of the flaws this Monitor has are related to the old Module.

Also, why is nvidia not adding a dithering option in their Windows driver? I bet this panel color binds just as bad or even worse than the existing ultrawides. Dithering or even better 10Bit Support would make this monitor much more desirable. If there would have been the option to Upgrade to the newer Module I would have happily paid the price difference, but as it is, the panel isn't worth it in my opinion.

I feel like it should've been this price with the new module, and a few hundred cheaper with the old one, if it had the new module I'd be tempted at the current price, hell I'm still a bit tempted now.

Judging by the pricing out there, the "Gsync HDR" module itself adds at least a couple hundred dollars in cost to the display manufacturers over the older module. The 950G at $1400-1600+ would have been completely noncompetitive in the market, so I understand why they went with the older module. Unless a panel is going to take advantage of all the features of the new module (real HDR, local dimming, etc...) then it doesn't really make sense to use it. That's why it's only appeared in a few flagship 4K HDR displays north of $2000. I don't think any ultrawides have used it yet (at least none you can buy now), and I expect those to be even more expensive once they appear.

I dunno. It’s $200 off in the USA already making it pretty competitive to the older screens ($1199, becomes a must buy). Seems like a no brainer to get it at this price.

I still don't necessarily think it's a "must buy" at that price. It is only marginally better than the AW3418DW, which will likely be marked down to $800 or lower this week. Sure $1200 is better than $1400 and at least makes it worth considering, but comparable competing monitors can still be had for $400+ less. It needs to get closer to $1000 before it becomes an automatic buy, at least for me.

I'll be buying something on Friday, either the AW3418DW or the 950G. Depends how the prices shake out.

xxxxx lists it as 100hz? OCUK 120Hz for the X34P.

It's a native 100Hz panel with an overclock to 120Hz. Whether it thus gets advertised as 100 or 120 seems to vary from place to place. I'm guessing some places are more careful about not wanting to guarantee the overclock, even though most panels should do it fine. AFAICT you need to go into the OSD to enable to overclock as it comes set at 100Hz from the factory.

Ah. Same as all these panels then.

gawd.. I could pay 630 now and get the x34p at my doorstep tonight but instead I paid for a 1100+ slightly better monitor for which I had no update on the shipment for the past 2 weeks. OCUK, you're making this really hard right now.
