LG 5120x2160 Ultrawides

Mentioned $2000 US

Update added to the OP link:

Please note that the specs provided here may be subject to final changes although we expect these to be pretty much there.

The 45GX950A is listed for mass production in Q1 2025 and has a current RRP of $1,999 USD. We were told at CES that it should be released in April 2025. The bendable 45GX990A mass production and pricing is still to be determined. The 39″ 39GX90SA is listed for Q3 2025 mass production at the moment with an RRP of $1,599 USD.
Any thoughts as to what this RRP might translate to for UK customers?

The 32" OLEDs 4k 240hz / 165hz are a much better deal. In the video he mentioned also 39" 5k2k - that cought my attention.

Samsung have there own version, not OLED but still decent, a cheaper alternative

It's a shame the OLED 5k2k panel isn't 40" IMO as I feel 45" is a bit too large. I wonder what the pricing will be like?

Having said that I think on balance I'd rather have a 27/32" OLED panel.

40" would also increase pixel density further which would help with text rendering.

I'm still not convinced that even the new RGWB subpixel layout and higher density will fully solve OLED's issues with text rendering.

As my use is 90% productivity rather than gaming, the Odyssey G7 40" is looking very attractive right now. Hadn't even heard of it until I saw @Baddass's video the other day, now I want more info.

Yeah, I could be tempted by a40” 5k2k ultrawide display at the right price. However I suspect it’ll cost more than the 27”/32” 4K OLED monitors. I think I’d favour them if prices are similar.

Well Dell already have one, the U4025QW, but it's not really tailored to gaming with only 120Hz refresh and the response times aren't great. That's £1600.

If the Samsung can offer good gaming performance with 160Hz+ refresh and good pixel response (not fussed about HDR tbh) then I'd fork out a similar amount for that as I'd be staring at it for 10+ hours per day.

That’s true. It’s good to see ultrawide monitors starting to move towards 2160p capable panels as the fact most are still 1440p puts me off buying another to replace my old Samsung 34” (3440x1440) VA display.

Personally I wouldn’t buy a new monitor unless it was capable of displaying 4k content natively.

Nice to see some manufactures offering non OLED screen, which are good for working from home etc (no burn in issue) and slightly cheaper.....you would think.

Is there a monitor similar to the Dell U40 one, but with a higher refresh rate? I've got a 165hz monitor and don't really want to go any lower (or higher).

And how do 5k2k monitors fare on mid ranged graphics cards? I have a 4070 Ti Super.

Not currently. Your 4070 ti will need a huge amount of help with DLSS and dropping settings. To give you some idea 4k is about 8.3 million pixels. 5k2k is 11.06 million.

Oh pants, is it a case of needing a 5090 to drive it properly? Or wait for 6series :p?

Tbh, even a 4090 or 5090 is going to have trouble driving a lot of stuff at 5K2K native resolution.

DLSS will be your best friend at this res. Interestingly, with DLSS Quality at 5K2K, the native rendering resolution would be very close to 3440x1440.
