LG 5120x2160 Ultrawides

Tbh my primary need is productivity but I think I’d be a tad miffed if I spent 1500£ on a monitor and my graphics card couldn’t power it to a decent level in the few games I play.

I am really tempted by this but really want the 240hz version so much so that I am prepared to wait a bit longer. I hope they will be released this year .. currently I am using a 38gl950g 3840x1600 ips .

So I've now got a MSI 5080 and am itching to upgrade my Dell 38" to one of these 45" Monitors. Any further news on when these are landing, or is still April at the earliest?

Well she turned up ten days ahead of the original schedule, and all I can say so far is I'm impressed. I haven't done work yet, just been installing it this evening, excuse the wires - work in progress whilst I get it adjusted:

Its gorgeous. Really, really, gorgeous. Currently set to 125% scale, and I've got to play about with the settings but so far, yeah. I am not disappointed.

I can feel the curve is going to take some getting used to but from what I've read thats normal - looking forward to working on this thing tomorrow!
Is this a UK purchase, I thought these weren't out for a few months yet?

So, the only issue I'm having so far is that my work laptop, whilst good for development, doesn't have decent onboard graphics, so I am only able to get 5k resolution out of it.

I have a USB-C dock, which I would have thought capable of providing the power (its a lenovo think pad dock v2), but when connecting to my laptop it simply doesn't detect the monitor. Even at only 5k resolution so far this is great but obviously I want the full shebang... speaking to work they're not opposed to buying me a new laptop, but what exactly would I need? I know I'm not going to get 200+ hz refresh rate, nor do I want it, but I need something capable of driving this thing properly.

I can use my own computer for work as well so its not yet an issue persay.

Actually suspecting its just an issue with my lenovo usb-c dock. Its supposed to be universal but I've found a number of issues online but no solution.... I'll try a HP dock then I guess!

After a day of mostly admin on it, I cannot overstate how impressed I am.

Not really done any coding yet, just been in architectural direction meetings and what have you, but plenty of documentation scrolled through, spreadsheets, gant charts, all that boring gubbins :p. Its amazing having this much screen!

I can imagine! I bet you wish you had a screen like this long before now.
