LG GX dead pixel.

Just noticed our GX 65" has quite a few along the bottom edge, probably 30+ pixels in the bottom 2 to 3 rows of pixels. Also some at the top, again with a few mm of the edge.

We have a 5 year warranty and we're 3 years in so may wait a little longer and see how it progresses. Not good :(

One or two dead pixels is reasonable, but that many is not. My old kuro has one dead pixel. It's to be expected with millions of pixels

We've still got the old Panasonic 46" plasma the LG GX replaced, and at over 11 years old its only got a couple of defective pixels and one was from new. Just glad we went with JL and have the 5 year warranty.

Is there some explanation as to why the LG GX's seem to be so suspectable to dead pixels? I've had a lot of TVs/monitors in the past but the LG GX seems to have had more dead pixels than all of the others from the past 20+ years combined. I've had it replaced twice and now the replacement (1 yr old) has started getting spots of dead pixels too

From what I've seen on the LG site it appears only the G1 and C1 and later models have a 5 year manufacturer warranty unless I've missed something, but at least I got mine via JL which stated a 5 year warranty.

I didn't realize that mine had any issues on our GX until I checked recently as the worst is the bottom edge and then top, and we mostly watch films. I checked it when it was new and after a month and it was perfect, but a number of comments elsewhere suggest some sealing issue around the edges. Now pondering whether to report now or wait until a bit nearer the end of the warranty in case they cannot repair and offer a payment we can put towards the latest model.

Well my CX has been repaired and will be back next week. Do they just have stacks of panels ready for repairs? I suppose it's not that different to phones or consumer electricals in general.

I never even thought about it this way, sounds like the smart move. Granted I wasn't even sure I had any warranty at all so I just called to check. I was only 3 and a half years into owning it. I could've gone another year as I didn't even notice the dodgy pixels unless up close.

They did a straight panel replacement and we're up and running again. I did notice 1 dead pixel though in the corner.. I hope that's not an indication of things to come.
