LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

I guess we'll know more when they'll say what was replaced, if it's something else than the "LCD module" (or maybe it's their generic term for anything inside the plastic shell).
What was the delay between sending the screen and repairs status update?

it took them a week until it was done. About 4 days after I sent it they told me they replaced the LCD module which the guy said effectively made it a new screen.
I sent them the pic and told them that you can replicate the fault by upping the refresh rate.

hey guys

I just got my UM95 and was wondering if there are optimal settings arou don the web for it? im not one for calibrtation so i was hoping there was a place that states the settings to use to get the best from it?

Cheers!

Also my bleed is average, its 100x worse in the photo i took and doesnt reflect the reality so i wont bother sharing it since itll putpeople off, its no where near as bad in reality trust me.

This site has a long review with settings listed and a calibration profile you can feed to True Colour Finder if you can't calibrate your screen yourself.

I don't have a calibrating tool/gizmo. Am I right in thinking I can load that profile on to the True Colour Finder program? If so how? Whenever I load up the program everything is greyed out and i can't select anything.

hey guys

another question,

I have a hackintosh that runs over display port to my monitor, i used to use a DGM with no issues.

However with the new LG screen I get the following then running at 60hertz

npsqxnkl.jpg

And i get a perfectly normal picture at 30hertz, however i also get massive mouse input lag thats near unusable...

Any ideas? HDMI doesnt seem to work and theres no DVI ports? so i seem to be limited unless i but a thunderbolt card for the hackintosh?

I just cant see why the LG isnt working when the DGM screen did...

Cheers guys

No, but you can get those 'pops' and flickers, maybe... still better than the huge artifacts you were having :p

Any updates?

They have said that it will take too long to get new parts for my monitor so there going to send me a new replacement. I said that id prefere a refund though so there seeing if they can do that and ill know early next week.
Don't really fancy having my 5th one of these so id prefere a refund and get a different one.
Also you only get the pops and flickers if you have 10bit colour enabled. So just disable that and run dp1.2 although that kind of defeats the advantage.

I never got any flickering or popping with 10 bit colour disabled...only with it enabled so I can only go by my experience.
I have no idea really... I might go for the curved Samsung VA panel but depends what the reviews say on that.

Id love to wait for the acer 144hz 34 inch one but that wont be out for a long time yet.

"LG will update the firmware of various 21: 9 monitors with a new firmware. The latest version is now 3.16. Ready to models for an update is include: 34UM95, 34UM65, 34UC97 and more. All models with production date of 2015 already have the latest firmware. The most important innovation is that the monitors now in the PBP operating remember the settings.

Unfortunately, the new firmware can not be updated by the users themselves. The submission to the LG service is unfortunately necessary. According to LG, the whole process for the customer but should be cost neutral. To get the firmware update, please send an online form or by phone at 01806 115411 (€ 0,20 / per call from a landline of DTAG, mobile max € 0.60 / per call.) directly to the LG service".

Oh! So there is an update after all!
I'd love to see the full changelog before sending my display though, because if it does not solve any of the issues I'm having...I'm not willing to test it out and finish with more problems than before :p
