Hi everyone,

We've just got online the first LG OLED gaming monitor which should be landing in August.

LG 48" 48GQ900-W 3840x2160 4K OLED 138Hz HDMI 2.1 FreeSync Widescreen HDMI 2.1 Gaming Monitor

As TFT Central said in their preview (HERE):

"The main attraction of these screens in the first place is the OLED panel, offering amazing contrast ratios, true blacks, per pixel dimming for excellent HDR and near-instant response times for gaming and fast motion content."

My guess is they will limit brightness of the screen to limit the effect of ABL like dell had done with the 34" QD-OLED.

Would have been better at 42" but i guess this monitor has been it the works for a while.

It's a good start and the way forward.

I don't mean to be provocative I'm genuinely ignorant. What advantage does this have over the OLED TV of the same size outside of having a display port?
