Lian Li do it again (PC-A05/PC-A16)

Those blanking plates look like WelshTom has been at it with his black and decker again; ;)

The A16 does look very nice, I've been looking for a decent stacker type case to buy in the summer, and I think I've found it...well someone else did but yeh.

I love Lian-Li cases so this one will be on my list for my server rig I will be building over the summer...I may end up using it for my main case and using my PC7B for the server.

A quick google left no ideas as to release price/date...but it was a very quick google, anybody have any ideas as to them?

Id guess your wrong. Im going to guess £130-£150
I didn't specify a currency....
it might be 80-100 £2 coins ;)

On a serious note, yeh it wouldn't surprise me ifs its a lot more, but I'm hoping its in the sub £100 area. IT features a standard layout, and I imagine a lot of the parts from the case are already used in other lian lis. Its only the front drive bays and the front panel that are really different.
*crosses fingers*

Loving the look of the A16, just wish it had more internal 3.5" bays, why the hell would you need 6 5.25" bays, surely you'd only need 3 or 4 maximum
So you buy the mounting bays for putting more harddrives in making more money. Plus so many things you buy now can come in 5.25 drive size. You now have an excuse for that 5.25 cigarette lighter / cup holder combo you saw now ;)
Also it wouldn't look as good, its the full front like that which is what looks appealing about that case.

I really do like this case (the A16) its kinda the case i have been looking for - a antec 900 with no gimmics - no plastic plenty of options for layout!

i guess the bottom fan/hdd cage can be moved to allow for g80 cards and the likes!

So do you think they will release special stealthing covers for the optical drives then?

I do love the look though.

True, just noticed ocuk sell those icybox things where you can mount 3,4 or 5 hard drives in the 5.25" spaces, so that seems pretty cool, think when the time comes for a new computer I'll end up buying one of these cases

Just thought I would mention that the A16 is not the first stacker type Lian Li. I have a PC 767 and although it has a door it has 10 5.25 bays. Using it on my File Server. Will be doing a review soon when i can get me act together lol.

But the A16 does look nice if you don't like doors and don't want a huge case. Mind you the PC767 isn't very high but man is it a deep case.

same for the a05 ill be getting one as it looks nice plus with no power supply in the way modders will add windows in

I saw it on newegg, a US site. It's the A05 they're selling and at a very good price - about £50 without shipping. They don't ship internationally, before some brown nosed mod labels this as competitor talk. If it's a similar price when it comes to the UK that will be fantastic! And it should be, as it's a smaller case than the PC-7, so it would be a bit bizarre if it was more. Come on OCUK, get them in!!

:)

Would cost a fortune to ship from the US though

USPS charge £13 for 7 day parcel post upto 15kg/35lb. But you would have to pay import duties and VAT on it though (another £20) making it £83 delivered if your £50 cost is correct.

Yeah, but they don't even ship to the UK, and I edited my post obviously while you were in the middle of quoting me there :). But even if they did, that's certainly going to cost more all in than it will to buy from the UK (when it arrives). Atleast it better be! If that case is over £80 when it comes to the UK then that's just crazy!

yer i would expect it to cost around the pc-g50 as its basically the same size with some treaks to the layout

Any clue when we might see this at this store? The A16?

On reflection I am actually interested in getting a few of the bezels and putting them on a V600. I can't seem to find this style of perforated bezel anywhere.... ah well
