Lian-Li PC-101 Aluminum Mid Tower - Black Any Good? W/C possible?

The door has a load of slits in both sides for airflow to the fan. Allegedly, it's not good enough.

My six hard drives behind the door / front fan are are obviously way too hot because of it and are all going to fail imminently.

Keep the sarcasm down lads. But your right, the door shouldn't affect the airflow very much at all, certainly not enough to cause a noticable difference to component temperatures. The reason why I went for a v2000 in the end(Other than the fact that it was very hard to get hold of the pc-201 at the time) was the fact that I want a visable phase controller display mounted on the front. This would have been very hard to incorporate into the door, whereas its relatively easy to mod a v2000 5 1/4" bezel.

you are takeing things to the extreme here, if you use your eyes i said from the reviews i've seen! the common aspect of a bad point on the case is that the door "can" hinder cooling to the hard drives! as i will be sticking a water-cooling rad in the bottom bay my hard drive's will be mounted in 5 1/4 drive bays instead in which case with a door and no fan there would be limited airflow to the drives, where as the v2000 (which imo offers better cooling and looks better will add greater air flow to the hard disks!

Which V2000 did you get, the standard, the plus or the plus II?

Can you comment on noise from the blower fan if you have the plus version, and also noise and dust in general? I am a little concerned about the perforated design, as the wooden floor of our office at home seems to attract dust like no other.

agreed, my point is i never claimed the cooling of the pc101 is bad, i'm just saying if i'm going to pay in excess of £130 for a case i want some thing that is going to offer optimal cooling (i.e. the v2000 will offer better cooling than the pc101)!

I got the +II. Can't really comment on the blower fan tbh. As I don't have the case in my possesion at the moment. Im currently having a Phase cooling unit built into the bottom section. Im going to have a phase cooled CPU a water cooled GPU and NB, so the blower fan isn't really relevant to me tbh. Im also going to mod the 5 1/4" bays so that they have 2x120mm fans drawing air over the harddrive caddies.
