Hi people, right here's my story!

Basically, i was working at a copier company just to tie things over until this other job opportunity came to light more, basically its my mums friends new "talent" company and i'd be working for her etc. Now, it's taken longer then expected for this company to start up properly, due to reasons as hospital visits (she's in a wheelchair), website designers client base being hacked, putting that on hold etc. I ended up stupidly leaving my job in anger and boredom of it (yes i know i shouldn't have, i'm 21, i made a mistake and i've learnt from it) so been out of a job for just over a month now.

The company is slowly starting to take shape, had a spot at the uni of bedfordshire last week at international day, to drum up some PR, well received etc. We've got interest from the BBC/ITV amongst many contacts in LA/Morocco etc who love the concept. Basically, i hear from her say once a week for meetings etc, on events taking place and the plan for the future, expenses and stuff which is all well and good, but i'm skint now. I have of course been looking for jobs, bar work the usual (getting tired of "any experience" how hard can it be to pull a pint), now my issue is, say i do get a job, within say a few weeks, i could be going to events and stuff for the other company whenever needs be, forcing me to leave that other job i've just got? I don't want to jump from job to job, as i had an interview a year ago, with a top recruitment firm, and i got slammed, as he said why so many jobs etc.

I don't get on with my dad at all, and parents constantly arguing over me now. I've told dad i left and i know i made a mistake. With this job, if it pans out the way it is meant to, then i'll be doing the job i absolutely love and enjoy, all he cares about is me bringing money in to the house.

Hopefully you can understand me.

Well, i work on expenses until the company properly takes off where she can pay me a salary, and then people work under me and i take a % of what they bring in and stuff, but yeah pretty much RedDanDoc.

I'm looking at temp agencys today, any good ones i should know about?

Also, i left my old job as i didn't like it anymore and sales wasn't for me, what can i put on my CV?

Windle, i know i made a mistake and i've learnt from it :)

How can i show you guys my CV for some slamming? Would like some opinions before i send it to a temp agency.

Well, i worked at tesco to fill time for doing sport, then i quit sport due to injurys and such.

So i decided to do music/film hence those jobs, but most of them are unpaid, so did telesales to get some money behind me then i can survive on no pay at the start.

With regards to the gap, the course started in March, so from December to March was just doing labouring work for my friends dad to fill that gap as i didn't see a point of getting a job for 2 months.

Aiming it towards a music type job, all i can think to write within the description about me part is "Having previously worked within a music and film environment, i would like to further my career within this area. Am able to work within a team but also on my own. Will work to deadlines with ease and use own intuition to go that extra mile".

It's probably better to reference the jobs even if it's very brief so that you explain the gap than just to have a period where you've apparently done nothing. There's maybe a judgement call to be made if there's dozens and dozens of jobs in there as it might imply a lack of ability to stick at anything for a decent period but I don't know your employment history so can't say for certain.

As Windle says you don't need to put down why you left a job although I have previously had on my CV a note for particularly short term jobs that they were during a summer break from uni or similar.

Have a look here.

The gap was only 2 months so is it worth it?

Thanks Zombiefan i'll try and implement that.

Compboyo, you're not funny.

jacking in a job that pays real money for some half baked fantasy about to start up through your mums friend is an act of insanity.

SO you hated sales ? thats not a good enough reason to quit without having another job to go to. Walking out on any job in this current climate is an act of lunacy unless you were taking physical / mental / racial etc abuse at work.

OP is indicative of why the British so called workforce is full of fail

I'm 21, i made a mistake and i've learnt from it.
