lighting voltage expert help

Hi, i am trying to source some sort of voltage regulator for a lighting system. The lights are going to be used for stop motion animation. Its paramount the light intensity doesn't change when i plug them into the current electrical system, at present they flicker when anything else on that circuit is switched on or off. The lights use three pin plugs. I need helps please.:D

What sort of lights are you using, ordinary incandescent bulbs, CFLS or something else?

What other equipment are you turning on/off and how much power do they require?

Also, what sort of supply are you using, the mains or something else?

Its the mains power. Its lights and showers in the house that are causing the lights to dim. The power goes out to a shed that we use. Halogen light bulbs. we have about four free standing lights

Basically, you haven't got enough supply to the shed. Yoou might not even have enough to the house!
Don;t shower whilst doing it? I am surprised that house lights would cause dimming on everything else though.

mostly the shower really. So their is no way to keep the power constant and the lights at one level? can you get a ups or power regulator for lights?

Can anyone confirm for definite that this would work?

I doubt if anyone can confirm it, because I susppect that no-one has ever tried running lights from a UPS.

We recently had to install a 10,000VA one at work. We tested it using a lamp and it worked for a bit, but it shut down because 60W wasn't enough power for it. It worked fine with a 2.2KW kettle though.

I imagine the one (or simlar ones) that I pointed out would have no problems. A PC can draw anything from 50W upwards, so a few lamps should be OK.
