Lightroom and Photoshop subscription now available to all

Subscribed

I was going to upgrade from LR4 soon anyways so paying just over a hundred quid for LR5 & Photoshop over a year seemed like a no brainier considering I'd want to upgrade agin next year anyways heh

I thought it is a good deal.

I alway pay for LR no matter what so £8 a year or £100 to buy it works out about the same and PS gets thrown in for free.

Plus, tax deductible ;)

The Lightroom key has changed after reinstalling (it downloaded but didn't do a full reinstall, all my settings are there, nothing changed which is good). I'm assuming my old Lightroom key is now free to be redeployed.

It can be 1$ and I wouldn't subscribe. Once Adobe get enough people locked in, they will begin to abuse their new power.

They've been abusing there dominant market position for a couple of decades so this really is no different.

I for one am pleased to see that they listened to customer feedback on this occasion and have released what customers actually want at a 'reasonable' price.

That's a good move, more in line with how it should have been in the first place!

Still on CS6 at work though, not yet decided if CC is worth it, given the outlay thus far!

Woo! Was just looking at paying for a Lightroom 5 upgrade, so this offer came along at the right time for me :)

Used to be dead set against software as a service (SaaS/subscription plans ;) ), but since signing up to Office 365 for all my personal email etc years ago I haven't looked back. Now I just wish more stuff was based on subscriptions! :)

It's certainly making my job of installing it on five new workstations much much easier, despite for some reason having to sign out of the account on all but one computer to finish instalation. You can definitely see the advantages for businesses though.

Still not sold on the idea of subscriptions for personal use mind.

Ummmm I was tempted by this, but I've just had a bit of a look at lightroom 5 and I really can't see any stand out features that would make me want to upgrade.

I use Elements and LR5 so can't really see this saving me money. It's not like I need a new copy every year and sometimes I think it's been longer than 12 months for a new version.

Are people 100% certain that you get to keep LR5 if you decide to unsubscribe after the year is up? There seems to be some confusion on the web whether you actually can or if that will terminate when you unsubscribe as well.

My immediate thought would be that cancelling ends the subscription, and as that's all you have the software via, you lose it too. Interesting if you can stop subscribing, but remain on that version and only forgo further updates.
