Lightroom/gaming bundle upgrade

had a noctua in the past, was good, but been on AIO water for the last 5/6 years

What's your AIO unit currently ? Might be able to just use that on new build ?
Also, Aorus 5, just has a little less flashy RGB but shame VRM and feature set , saves a bit of cash to :)
UK RMA as well with Gigabyte and rep support on here is very strong

An antech khuler h2o 620. Bit old

Could phone up and change mobo this morning. Edit - out of stock now anyway, was only 1 last night

Gaming 7 is on offer, so not much difference in price.

Cooler will keep nice and cool that's for sure ! What case do you have to fit that monster !!!!??
Not sure if they have released their asthetics kit for that model yet.. does make their coolers prettier

The noctua ? Hope it fits, I have some massive coolmaster case I think it is, can't remember the model name.
Hope it's as good as water cooling aio units

Looks good, hope this air cooler performs ok and doesn't make too much noise, lol

Nah, not with non K as well . Voltage should be lower and will mean fans don't have to spin as fast .
Build will do you well. You can also turn off the RGB !

USB C gen 2.1 will make transfering files from disk speedy :)

I bought a K cpu...? Did you mean I didn't or not?

USB c - new too me. Is this better than USB 3? do I need a new hub to transfer my photos from SD card to PC?

Sorry was getting mixed up. Yeah that and two others are probably the only air coolers tat tan handle an overclocked 8700k - again all down to Intel's poor TIM between die an heatspreader .

I use

Just as sd cards are getting faster and faster . Usb 3.1 can be triple the transfer speed of usb3 . Again depends on the card and amount of data you transfer . Nice to be future proofed

Something to look into then :-)

Maybe i'll have to go water if it gets too hot, see how it goes. I don't need to clock it crazy

How good the case airflow is will help determine just how well an air cooler performs. That Noctua still outperforms plenty of 240mm AIOs in some tests. Feed it enough cool air, and make sure exhaust fan/s spin up when they need to. Found that intake fans RPM doesn't really make much difference beyond a certain point, but exhaust fan/s RPM does to get rid of the hot air quicker. Scenarios will vary with different setups though.

I have large front, huge side and two biggies on top of case.

Might chuck something on the back as well pulling out, but I think the top pulling out is enough with front and side feeding.
