This is what comes to mind whenever I read 'likes' or '+1's'...if you approve of a comment, make a new one stating that and maybe even -shock horror- say why you like, what you agree with etc.

It's called a conversation and that's what the forums are all about.

No. I also use RFUK and they have this mod. As for stopping the +1#s, it posts a new post to say that "xxxx likes this".

Its not facebook, you do not have to tell people you like it.
Its not like you walk up to someone in the street, tap them on the shoulder and say "I like that building"
