Lil sister wants me to photograph wedding

I have got 2 weddings to do this year (a week apart) and im only a extra, they have paid photographers there but want me to take some as well as more photos from different people is better than more photos from one person.

im not stressing at all,it will be a good learning curve for me and im so looking forward to it,they is not pressure on me and i will do my best and enjoy both weddings.

Im taking 2 bodys (sony) and 4 lens.

might make the actual event more interesting too!

i think my sister is trying to cut costs lol!

another thing would be only one body and about 3 usable lenses..providing i get something mentioned in this thread

Why don't you hirer another body and lens?

It'd probably cost you c. £70 for the day.

Im doing my first wedding shoot for my fiances friend. Im charging them very little just costs. This will include insurances, equipment hire and expenses. I have so far done a pre wedding shoot with them and they liked them. Im lucky they are doing it on the cheap and weren't even going to use a wedding photographer. Im also lucky im organizing my own wedding so its nice to see how the pro's invoice etc. Ive asked them for a complete timeline and must have shots.

My kit is:

Canon 7D
Canon 50mm 1.4
Tamron 17-55 2.8
Canon 70-200 f4 IS
Canon 10-22mm
Canon 580x flash

Im planning to buy another battery to make my total 3 and buy more cards.

All in all im pretty relaxed about it just a bit concerned about the 7d's low light performance. Im also kind of thinking of adding a 6D to my current kit as the misses want to get into photography.

Good luck Matt! :)

You'll be fine with the 7D - I've shot several weddings with mine. Yes the low light performance isn't spectacular and you'll have to rely on the flash a bit more but just keep the exposure to the right to minimise noise and push the ISO a bit where needed.

id rather the best crop than my 60d really too

i also have nothing like the 70-200mm lens
atm i only have primes between 22-120mm range !
nor off cam flash

its amazing how different types of photography need so different equipment!

so i havent really got the equipment but more important is lack of practice (+lack of opportunities)

You could do, although your f/4 IS is probably more than adequate. 70-200 can be on the long side on a crop for a wedding but can be used effectively:
