If I get £700 spare, then a Variax 700 would be the first thing I'd buy!

I prefer the 600 to the 700. The Strat style neck just is nicer to play than the PRS style of the 700. And the 700 isn't exactly bad anyway. Also, the 600 is a fair bit cheaper.

Ah, I didn't know the necks were different. I thought the only difference between the two was the exotic wood on the top of the body.

Well if I do get a spare £700 knocking around I'll have to ask the shop to order both in so I can decide then

Well I went home last night and picked it up . . .

My god, this thing is built for battle. You could use it as a bullet shield, it's made of strong metal. And it's shiny!

I've only started to scratch the surface on it, my housemate had a jam with me today as we both set up our own effects set up because of the 2-tone system on it, sounded brilliant! The interface is very intuitive (contrary to some reports I've heard) and it works with my PC, unlike my old Black Box.

Going to fiddle with it all night tonight to get used to it and explore the hundreds of amps and effects!
