why would i be using Qtips(cotton buds for pooley), if not to spread it.

Also GN video uses twice as much liquid metal than is needed for a completely different appliance.

He said used a blob and qtips how should I know what qtip is? swabs or cotton buds would be easier to understand.
So you are trying to say that you went with a giant red FACEPALM and stated that you will not find ANYONE ANYWHERE (ftfy) advising that method for liquid metal. with out even knowing what he was talking about.

Better to run a couple of degrees hotter than use extreme options like the one in the OP.
I believe that LM can't be used below a certain temperature, for some reason around 5°C rings a bell.In more extreme cooling setups another matter.
