List your crashes

Crash 1 - Renault 5 Campus - 1 week before my 18th.
At 17, and a driving god (:p) I ran out to grip and talent taking a 50mph corner at greater 70mph (don't know exact speed). Went sideways, over corrected, tried to correct that but ran out of space, went up the hedge and flipped the car back down onto the roof on the road Caved the roof in, window exploded in my ear and mullered the windscreen, also bashed my head on the roof/road but only got a bump. Didn't claim as car wasn;t worth it neither was the excess.

Crash 2 - Peugeot 205 XR - 3-Jan-08
Driving sensibly, got some road rage due to a van, he overtook me, I gestured at him, he stopped. I stopped, I then went to pull round him at about 5mph if that and wasn't paying full attention and scraped the front wing on his van. He claimed for whiplash and damages to his van etc.

Hit from behind in traffic on M27 at about 5 mph. Bumper replaced all went through the other guys insurance.

Couple of parking issues by other parties, where no details were left when I returned :(
 
My only crash. First car, locked up on ice and scraped along a hedgerow, side of car required a bit of a respray. Didn't bother claiming on insurance.

I've also had a pigeon through the bonnet grill on my focus.
 
Canada, just outside Ottawa.

Woman attempting suicide ran a red light, t-boned the MPV i was in. Both cars traveling at 50mph. She stopped dead, I was directed into a concrete traffic light pole, head on collision.

Walked away. Made the front page of the Ottawa Sunday Sun (local rag).
 
Crash 1: My Ford Focus.

Tesco Carpark, turning left, had to menouver round a car didn't see the Vauxhall Frontera and smack into her side.

Very minor damage to the Focus and wrote the Frontera off.

Cost: 1 years NCB, didn't bother repairing the Focus.

Crash number 2: My Mini Cooper.

Coming off a roundabout, hit a patch of ice.. spin out and into a ditch. Just bruising my self confidence.

Cost: £0, no damage (Thankfully.. could have been a lot worse)

Clipped a guys wing mirror on a thin country lane (new piece of glass req)
Reversed into a steel gate (new bumper and tail-light req)
Reversed into wheelie bin (t-cutted out).

Nothing spectacular, yet:cool:

Only crash - doing about 40-45mph in my impreza, sudden heavy downpour caused a drain to overflow and I aquaplaned on the water and hit the kerb. Bent the wishbone, ruined the alloy and a few other bits. Insurance repaired it all, and ended up replacing all 4 alloys, tyres, driveshaft, front brakes as well as all the front suspension :o
 
Crash one: SV650, New Rider, road was wet, car in front slammed on I grabbed the front brake full on lol :D down I went, hurt my knee, wrecked side panel as the R&G did nothing it popped off, few weeks later read that they had replaced with new version :/

Crash Two: GSXR 750, Oil on roundabout, slow motion low slide, scuff to can and crash bung thats all, no damage to me at all, barely a scuff on my leathers

Crash Three: GSXR 750, Highside at 5mph! dark didnt know the road surface was crap and it was freezing cold, rear spun up I shut off the throttle and it flipped me off, scuffed exhaust again :p and crash bung And scratched my 1 week old AGV lid :/ scuff on my shoulder and hurt my shoulder ached for a week, did more damage at 5mph than I did sliding on my hip at 30 odd mph lol

But I have learn from them, and a really good rider in the wet now and have had multiple times on track when its tried to highside me, but now know that trick is not to let off the throttle, thats what causes them :p

Late 70's... got a tank slap on @ 90mph..Came skidding on my butt past a parked up copper

1982.. Back in W. Australia. The kerbs are slanted.. I was riding a MT 125 Enduro in T-shirt, Shorts & Thongs (flip flops). With open face helmet... Got bored with the road so leant over at 80kmh and went bombing up a hard sand/gravel rise.. peaked and found steep drop downwards and at the bottom someone had dug a deep storm water trench.

Had to lay the bike down and gravel rashed !!

Back to Uk.. 1985.. Last of the big snow years.. Attempting to get to work I went down a big hill in my Capri and the R.Send overtook the front.

I ended up in a ditch..

!990's.. Whilst Joining M62 East at J26.. Suspension airbag gave way causing wagon to topple over. ( No pix)
 
Hit in rear bumper at around 5-10 mph. Stopping for traffic lights, someone pulled out from a road too fast and failed to notice me slowing.

My driving test is in a month :p
 
No off's on the bike in 26 years but in the car had a couple of accidents.


First, Day after passing test I was too close to car in front and he turned left and stopped dead half way around corner. I smashed his rear light, my front end exploded due to the rust(Mk2 Escort).:D

Second, Hit by someone lost it and came over on my side of the road on a blind bend, head on. Unfortunately my Mondeo had died so I was in a in-between car (Fiesta Mk3) and it didn't cope well. Car destroyed, O/H . . . Broken legs, pelvis, ribs, arm, cuts etc. Me . . . Broken & dislocated ankles, broken leg, both lungs Collapsed.

Poor you - Findalonga. So glad you are ok.

What is a tank slapper? I hear it mentioned all the time and never know what it is.
