LittleBigPlanet - Play, Create and Share.

Just getting my head around this - though playing it at 4am in the morning after a night out doesnt really help - pretty enjoyable but the first few levels are quite boring

i havent played the beta for about a week now. As mentioned before in this thread there are some things which kind of bother me. As a platformer is nothing amazing but kind of cool. Some of the levels seen in vids are pretty cool. Essentially i dont really think there is much real depth to the game. Obviously the ability to make the levels is a major plus and that is something which is great. I find it weird that the press are hailing this game as such an amazing thing and innovation. The only real amazing thing this game has going for it is level building, and it looks really nice

The jumping feels alittle lose at times, kinda slippy. I wish there was alittle more structure to the game, it seems like its up to us to do that. Its a fun game, just don't know how long it'll last.

I really like the co-op gameplay, everyone works together even without a mic. Its great. :)

It's difficult to judge a games single player element when you are supplied with a mere 5 levels out of the 60(?) that will be supplied with the full game. I reckon those who put the effort in will get a lot back from this game.

True, trying to judge the whole games single player levels, most of which are just tutorials seems a bit misguided. The jumping may feel loose as its not that grav defying "double jump" that many platforms use, but a physics based one where momentum and mavity actually play a real part. Just because it doesnt work the same as other platformer doesnt mean that its a problem, just different and thats why i like it. It probably has to be a bit floaty to make it a bit easier with the UGC levels, as if it required perfect spacing and timing it would make creating levels harder.
