NFS!!???!!!

I do prefer r-Factor over LFS, but NFS!!??!!...........

Never heard of r-Factor but NFS: Most Wanted is a good game. Apart from the stupid catch-up mode and the Police that follow you at well over 200mph but yeah it's a good game.

Yep, feels like driving with some tyres that cost 99 pence each.

Crap game IMO. NFS is better. :)

Its still in Alpha, just wait for the official complete game. The devs are aware of a lack of grip etc and it say it iwll be fixed, as and when i do not know.

Theres still loads of work left to be done on this game, light on the pits have been put in recently but they are not working, also temperature sensors are on the cars but overheating etc is not implemented yet. Theres a long way to go, andit still came out at black hole motorsports multplyer of the year, sim of the year and overall best game of the year.

NFS used to be amazing up until when underground came in then it all went downhill. The next NFS will be claimed to be a Sim probably, and i will love to see how many fall for it a claim like that. Somehow, i dont find taking hairpins at 100mph+ satisfying.

To be fair NFS:MW is a good arcade game, I do own it and it's good for a quick bit of fun, but it is in no way comparable to a proper driving simulator like rF, GTL, LFS etc.

If you are an arcade racer fan then heavyweight sims just wont appeal to you.

Chalk and cheese really.

Compairing an arcade game to a simulation is completely pointless.

Anyway, as for the ice tyre physics, it has been improved with the recent patches. Maybe not perfect, but better by a long way.

is their a playable demo of rfactor? i want to try it out

There is, but it's based on an old build and not really reprasentative (sp?) of the game in it's current state. Also the standard content is a little stingy, it really comes alive with the high quality add-ons that have been released.

They do a no quibble money back offer though, if you don't like it within 48 hours you can get your money back.

Yeah, you're right. I didn't think of the game as a sim or anything just a "racing game". I think NFS is fairly realistic though, it's getting better and better with each one they make.

And fair play to the LFS being an alpha version, didn't realise that to be honest. The game just feels like you have to drive like a granny and it feels like you're controlling the drivers arms and not the car if that makes sense?

NFS is about as unrealistic as a driving game can get.

It is a pure arcade game, designed for young people with consoles. And as this continues, they are becoming more and more arcadish, and less realistic (the earlier, pre-Underground ones had some half-decent physics in them)

It's in a COMPLETELY different league to the likes of LFS, rFactor etc.

In LFS/rFactor you have to drive like you do in real life - no sudden direction changes, gentle acceleration/braking/steering, avoiding obstacles. If you're trying to play them without a wheel, it's akin to driving your real car by pressing the throttle/brake to the floor every time you touch them, and being sticking the steering on full lock every time you move it. Or in other words - you're not going to enjoy it, and you're very likely to break something, or yourself!

There's no way you can compare the two.

Yes, NFS is good for some mindless arcadish button-to-the-floor driving, but you have to realise that it's not designed to be realistic - the others are, and you can't judge to two as though they're the same :)
