Live on your own? Get scared?

I remember when I was like 8 and going to the toilet at night, I used to kick when I entered the bath room so that if there was anyone in the dark that I could not see, I would be quick to know.

You've always got the advantage if someone does break in though, I mean you do live alone, there's a good 75% chance that if someone does break in that you are stark ******** naked and in the middle of the one hand fandango, that'll scare off even the hardiest of burglars.

Or they'll break down laughing at your lack of gentleman size leaving you to an advantage to quickly ninja kick him or something!

So I assume you also turn the last light off downstairs then sprint upstairs as fast as possible so nothing murders you along the way? Of course I don't do that... :)

Ahaha nothing worse than when your going upstairs after the last light off and you get that horrible sensation someone is following you. You run up the last 3 stairs like woo they cant get me now :D

You know you could just get one of those nifty switches fitted at the top of the stairs that turns the downstairs lights off.
That would be only useful if you were a wimp though.

lol! I never do that I don't know what you're talking about :D

I dont live alone - but when I am alone, yes!
Don't like the dark or the quiet!
But then again - I am a girl!!

Got a big scary husband and guard dog which helps :D

I don't live alone but I do sometimes get a bit paranoid that someone's going to break in, especially if there isn't a car parked on the drive and the lights are off. Not scared at all, I just make sure the house is properly 'locked down' compared to usual. Waste of time really, most of the house/bungalow is ground level so if theives really did want to get in they'd probably just smash a window and jump in.

Also made even more stupid because the neighbours rarely have lights on after 10:30PM and no cars on the drive so I shouldn't be any more of a prime target than them, also not in an even remotely crime-infected area.

I have a few days a month alone and I've never had a problem being in the dark. My room is on the second floor too.

I live in a top floor flat on my own. The door going into the living room is glass and very occasionally at night I think I've seen a dodgy reflection in it, or something catches my eye outside in the hall. It's not proper fear, just a freaky chilling feeling for a split second.

I live alone, and don't worry about being on my own. I'm more worried when missus and little one are stopping over. Could be due to not being fully used to the till july when they havem being here, but only have till then when they move in.

I often wake up to cars, but I live in private grounds, and anyone in after 9pm is unexpected/uninvited. And normally gates locked at 9pm, so if I here a car it's a strange, who's that and what they doing thing. I'm not bothered about looking and going out to see who it is though.

Only gets odd when you hear "Someone help me, I think i'm going to die" screamed from the flat above you. Otherwise it's pretty damn sweet.

Use to live on my own years ago, never bothered me, but I use to keep a nice piece of hickory handy.

Only ever used it once,:D on a local oik who broke in at 2am, poor ******* thought I was still away, but I came back a day early.
