I might be a bit late but I have a couple of bird boxes to put up. Is it best to help out putting some shredded paper or something in as a base bedding?

I'm thinking maybe I will get tenants for 2nd clutches.

We clean our boxes out every year & the birds just collect everything by themselves

I put a new box up last weekend and a pair of bluetits moved in almost immediately. They're very busy collecting nesting material so I think the nest must be almost complete now.

My bluetits have chosen a different box this year and are much earlier than last year. I currently have two eggs!

My Bluetit laid 10 eggs in total, they started hatching yesterday:

7 have hatched so far, not sure the others will hatch now though.
