Is it just me or is anyone else getting some strange phonecalls from Lloyds?

I keep getting automated messages saying:

'This is an important message for Mr John Cambridge' yet it ends there...no more is said

I wouldn't mind but it's not me and I have no dealings with this bank, 3 times today they've phoned, and on a number of occasions in the previous weeks...

I couldn't press the key to say yes I am him but I may do in future :p

Just watch out for 08453000000 calling you. :o

Seems like our systems have an incorrect number (which happens to be yours) - can you just confirm the number that is calling you? Is it 0845 3000000 or 0845 603 1754?

Are you able to see my mobile number from the name I've given?

Because I take it you work in a call centre?

It's definitely 08453000000 Because I've looked at my received calls list.

Yes but 3000000 is a well known Lloyds number, and they don't have any automated outbound calling facility - which is why I wanted to check...

If it cant do outbound, why is it ringing me 3 times today?

Odd - Wasn't aware Phonebank had an automated dialling system, to my knowledge it's only Fraud/Collections that do - and it works via a different number!?

I would be able to search the name at work if it was my Department calling out - but I'm not at work! Your best bet is to ring 0845 3000000 and advise you are getting an automated call - still, puzzled why they would use any automated dialling it's just phonebank??

Lloyds send me letters to tell me they have been trying to call me urgently. When I call them back it's because they desperately want to know if I'd be interested in a loan.

They are generally incompetent.

Haha - Even when I ring them they try to sell me everything under the sun - even with the "I work for the bank, and am fully aware of all our products" - I get "so, do you want insurance or a loan, or systems tell us we can offer you, this, that, etc..."

Biggest bunch of con artists and robbing swines around. Ignore the tossers, they're just wanting more money off you.

I ALWAYS have trouble with them. They've caused me nothing but hassle. I won't go into detail on here, but the sooner my dealings with them are resolved, the better. Terrible communication, inability to employ anyone intelligible, robbing sods. Hate them.

McDaniel - Barclays have been brilliant with me since I opened my account 12 months ago. Weird :)

Exactly my point though, and I've never had any issues at all with Lloyds, I know people like yourself who have, and my housemate had nothing but problems with HSBC. Just the way it goes!

Also - the bit about "inability to employ anyone intelligible"

:( Ouch! I work for them!

Im not sure who is incharge of the share dealings department for Halifax/Lloyds...

I get my dividends paid in to my current account, so when I phone the helpline they say I dont exist on the systems, and I should write a letter stating who I am, address etc and send my passport, erm no?

Dunno why it cant be resolved over the phone.

Obviously I've never spoken to you :p

I did speak to a nice woman from Lloyds the other day who spoke English, I thought I was in heaven..

Or had phoned the wrong number :D

The only Department for Lloyds that is not in the UK is Inbound Collections that I know of, some of the main ones below...

Phonebank is UK (Multiple Sites, Wales, Scotland for a few)
Fraud is UK (Essex)
Collections Outbound (Essex / Brighton)
Internet Banking (Multiple Sites, like Phonebank)
Lost and Stolen (Essex)

/edit

I don't work on the phones, well not any more - used to!

mcdaniel, you work for one part of Lloyds, there are other sections with their own call centres ;]
AF have 2 outbound sections, one is colls the other is PPP, both of which use a predictive dialler :p

Well aware I work for one part, just stating that I didn't think PB used outbound dialling, I know a lot of other areas have call centre thanks! :p
