Lock-on/Flaming Cliffs

Not DX10 then?? Ah well, I'll probably still buy it. Did anyone else get one of the limited edition bound lock-on manuals when it first came out??? I wonder if they will be worth any small amount in the future :D Sorry, no hijack intended!

I have the manual in mint condition :) a must have.

Hmmm, I've still got the printed manual somewhere. Might have to stick it on ebay if LOMAC is still popular. I stopped playing it after about 2 weeks, just found it too simplistic and watered down to be honest. Pity really as it had the potential to be such a good sim if only they'd given it decent realistic avionics rather than the simplistic ones it has.

You guys think there would be any interest in the printed manual amogst the likes of you guys who still playn it?

For me its the lack of any real structure and continuity in the campaigns that kills the immersion. Same with IL2. The problem (as I see it) is that these guys are great at making complex maths models etc but suc at making games :D

Er.. simplistic models? Even the Falcon series isn't much more complex.. DCS is already in use by various military forces around the world to train real pilots.. so it can't be that simplistic.

As for campaigns, well it's up to you to design missions and campaigns. :)

Well lets see. No clickable cockpit, very little detail in avionics and no dynamic campaign engine. The radar model for the F15 is pretty good I suppose, but still it has a fair few errors.

LOMAC looks pretty yes, but I'll take function over form any day of the week. It's not an arcade game, but it's not a high fidelity sim either.

DCS: Black Shark on the other hand seems like a different animal, here's hoping they do bring out fast jet addons as they say they will. F-16 please! Also a dynamic campaign is essential for any sort of long term enjoyment imho.

I agree with Eddie. It is a lighter sim than the obvious benchmark although the SU-25T is a beast to fly and fight properly. Its a very good sim but it and black shark wont have dynamic campaigns and that for me is an immersion killer. I'll still buy BS though. :D

To be honest:

Falcon 4.0 AF: Hard-core sim

Lockon: Graphics/Fun, easy to pick up for beginners and a great game to master tactically in squads.

Check out glowing amraam's vids :p

Yeah ive been looking at that Falcon 4.0 game, but theres a load of different mods for it and dont have a clue which is best.
