Care to mention how 2080ti's in stock have managed to climb their way to £1500? The strix, the msi trio the laughably bad gigabyte aorus etc. The trio was a £1200 card, now £1400, the gigabyte was around £1300 or so and the strix has bounced about in price so much i've lost count.

There is no supply and prices have risen considerably but supply and demand will always be biggest factor in pricing.

Prices go up and prices go down and it can happen at anytime for any reason and why people moan as to why something was cheaper months ago than now begs the question then why did they not buy back then when it was cheaper or is it just the typical complaining for complaining sake with no intention to buying.

Fact is right now the deals we did are flying and the cards in short supply obviously cost more for the blatantly obvious reasons of lack of supply.

@Gibbo perhaps maybe a bit off topic related to deals, but ive noticed monitors (in general, not just on OCuk) are low in stock or out of stock and climbing quite a bit in price.

I can imagine with the massive increase in working from home, demand has gone up, but is this something you're experiencing at the moment?

I'm currently waiting on the AOC cu34g2x and your guys have been keeping me updated in the pre-sales forum. I was just curious how hard this is hitting the industry and if you have an ETA on the AOC monitor.

Yes demand is off the scales, it is busier than Black Friday for everyone across the UK, April was our biggest turnover month in the history of the company, we did nearly 10 million in one month just OcUK alone. :)

These were real and hence most sold out. :)

Had another 700 2070 super wind force land today so planning to hit £499 again.

Also 5700 is still at £299 and the remainder of stock lands next week but will sell out fast.

Our deals are strong and selling well or sold out. :)

I'll keep refreshing the site for the £499 then!

Yeah nevermind the over 40,000 deaths in this country during the greatest crisis the country has seen since WWII, as long as OCUK is making a mint out of the situation by taking advantage of everyone being home to gouge them senseless, everything's fine!

You should be ashamed, bragging about how much money you're making while people are dying en masse.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's bragging, just making a bit of a thoughtless and tasteless statement.

It is what it is, there will always be people making a profit out of any given situation and keeping prices low whilst everyone else sells high would not be good business practice. This is the society we live in.

It's not even a tasteless comment, he's saying turnover not profit. I'd rather see UK business striving in times like this and providing goods and service than going under. The fact they can provide things cheaper than other places with fast delivery we should be celebrating them, not berating them.

They jack up prices as stock is low due to a global pandemic, even though the stock was probably bought before and you think they should be celebrated.......eh ok.

Okay, so the stock was bought at a cheaper price, so what do you think has happened to that price now? Rock and a hard place for OCUK, they can normalise prices as best they can like they have done, or sell off old stock cheap, then have a massive price disparity when they have to replace that stock.

Yup, just like "finding" those 7 x 1080ti for £599 then jacking the price up for last couple to £799 just because they could

The pc component market is certainly an odd one, it's reflects the market quicker than oil prices. Where as other electronic sectors, audio visual for example, prices remain static despite stock levels or global events affecting supply. Pc component prices are gouged at the first opportunity.

Exactly. The rubes on this forum think he's their "mate", he's laughing his a** at them as he rolls by in the Ferarri they paid for...just check the defensive comments on this thread...

OCUK clearly profiteering out of a crisis, jacking up prices even on cards that are 4 years old (check the Vega 64 price) and still OCUK can do no wrong...

This lot would buy OCUK branded magic beans, especially if GPU "fwiend" recommended them.

:D
