Work in progress - Would love an i9 setup but trusty old i7 is going ok for now with Warzone and what not. Need a bigger desk to actually see the side panel unfortunately!

So.... what motherboard and cpu is recommended these days? Where's the sweet spot for price vs performance etc? Do we think my old PSU would cope with a new setup?

Depends what you really want to do on it and how much you want to spend.

I can guarantee others will tell you to buy a new PSU as well.

First set of Lockdown upgrades after trawling the forums for ages and pondering stuff. I thought I was settled on an i9, but swayed over to AMD's Ryzen 3900x.

PSU (and 3600Mhz RAM) is next on the cards I think. Options though!!!

Looks good mate. :)

Shame you have all that RGB tucked away out of sight.

The M.2 drive in your first video though.:D

Haha yeah I hadn't even noticed till taking the video!! Screwed right back in immediately, but had already taken the shots lol.

Current setup means the windowed panel is hidden, and if I put the case up on the desk, it'll block the 2nd screen a bit..... House move on the cards shortly (long story, but flat sold before lockdown, fell through, need to do it all again) so hoping for a bigger gaming room post move!!!

Haha that looks sweet. As my kids now need their own rooms my pc has been downsized to the dining room..
One day I'll have a summer house for it

Thanks mate! Doh about having do downsize, but needs must! You'll get it all back one day!

With camera work like that you should be in the porn industry :D

Could you not move the PC to the other side of underneath your desk?

I'll not tell the missus, but that's the best compliment for my phone camera skills haha :D

There's some drawers on the IKEA desk on the right side, most annoying!

Still using a 650D case here. But waiting for the mini 011 to release before doing a slightly smaller build. Now I have no HDD or optical drives, it's a bit cavernous in there.
I see you stuck with Corsair, brand loyalty or other reasons?

Just fancied it for the design tbh. Corsair fans and cooler more for the iCUE element, just ties together nicely.

Ok few updates from the last week.

First off, an EVGA Powerlink adapter, to basically move the power sockets on the GPU to a less crap place.

Tidier - though still improvements in cabling to do.

Next up, made a bunch of new iCUE colour profiles and matched them to the Philips Hue round the desk and monitors. This was just one, but I thought it looked cool to share :)
