Loft insulation and boarding

I like decent screws as well, I used a hell of a lot of these and they were great.

Floor-Tite Flooring Screws

For my loft I doubled up the joists with 47x75 timber so I had 150mm height.
Used 145mm PIR insulation then boarded.
Really took a lot of the flex out of the loft as well and I felt was a step up Vs the loft leg things.
In the far reaches of the loft where I didn't double the joists I used 45mm PIR in between the joists then another layer of 45mm over the whole lot.
Also used lots of expanding foam for any hard to reach bits.

I always end up using the wrong bit for the screw head! I need to get a good set of screws that all use the same screwdriver bit...

I’ve just had a close look. There is a central boarded area that is nailed down. The rest seems to be a bit hit and miss insulation wise. The boiler with cold water tank are in the attic, so I assume it is fine for the insulated pipes to be under insulation. Is that ok? All the current pipes run just above the current 100mm insulation and rafters.

Otherwise I need to move the light switches and a plug. The ladder may just scrape past with 175mm, though the hatch needs changing anyway so may replace anyway.
