Heya guys, Im looking to go away for a week with a bunch of mates next year.

Were wanting to go to a Rural Log cabin in the North of Scotland, but all the cabins that I can find seem to be built wheres theres 2 or 3 cabins or in a town, but im looking for something rural, in the middle of a forest with nobody around for a god few miles.

Anybody know of any available, or can reccomend one?

p.s. It has to have a Fire :)

/removes image from memory. Moving swiftly on! Have you been to hoseasons? We went to a log cabin in mid wales this summer. There was only 1 other log cabin there and it was literally 3 miles away from any significant hamlet or town! It had a hot tub on the verranda for 6 people and a wood burning stove/TV/DVD player and a river close by! Was amazing :D

The trouble with log cabins is that they are a new(ish) business and so to max. their profits they build 3 or 4 together. Try looking for a an old cottage/croft, or it you are feeling adventurous look out for a ''stone tent''

Hi mate

It's not a log cabin but I can recommend this place, I was there less than a fortnight ago on the banks of Loch Tummel. It was absolutely stunning, cottage can sleep 10, has a games room, two lounges, two real fires (wood included), two kitches, 4 bathrooms, tennis court and a large drive for parking. We hired out the entire cottage although you can hire out just one half of it.

We were literally about 300m from the water and surrounded by fields of sheep, lots of nice walks nearby too although you do have to drive to them as the cottage is so remote. The owners house is nearby but we didn't actually see them all weekend. The official site is here:

That actually looks great, How much did it cost you for a weeks rent for the whole cottage?
