How are they wireless? Do you put batteries in them or something?

So I imagine you will still need to run power to them but obviously lots of rooms have power outlets at the front and back of the room (like mine)

I want these so so badly ! At £150 that is awesome.

Give us a short review when you set it up :D

This is a review by one the buyers from a different site to ocuk..

The speakers produce great sound, when everything else is switched off. However, switch on WiFi Wireless Network, and you get terrible interference on the rear speakers. After investigation, we found a number of devices causing the interference.

> WiFi Network
> Electric Fan Heater
> Television (with small Arial on top)

On each of the above devices, I had music playing perfectly off my iPod, and when we switched one on I got interference. It sounded like AM Radio where there isnt anything broadcasting.

If you have a lot of electrics in your room, I wouldnt suggest this speaker system, or you will get awful interference.

Was this review helpful to you?

I was going to order a set today..But that review has put me right off them..And i have seen people post about interference on the rear speaker a few times in different forums..
So i guess am going get a set of the Z-5500 instead.

So they turned up in a mahoosive box !!

I have an Audigy 2 which has an coaxial digital out as well a 3.5 jack connectors for front/rear/sub. So if I use the coaxial digital I don't get any dialogue just seems like the surround info is going over the optical.

I seem to remember this being "normal" behaviour for the Audigy cards, you can't just use the optical out and get all 5 channels.

At the moment I have it setup with 3 3.5 mm jack connectors, the coaxial out isn't much use for the PC and these speakers because if I select "coxial" I only get surround info and no dialogue etc.

Plugged my Xbox 360 into it and it nearly blew be out of my chair ;)

Cheers

HEADRAT have you got wireless network in your room your using the z-5450 speakers in...

I really want to order a set of these Z-5450..but the rumors of the interference is putting me off..

If I put the controller box right next to my Belin Pre-N router it does kill the wireless, I've now moved it to the other end of the deck and its fine.

Many Thanks for that HEADRAT.

I guess that will make it a confirmed no for me on them..I have a wireless router on top of my desk with two wireless pc's under the desk.

Depends how wide the range is, things like 802.11N when it becomes widespread will almost certainly take up most of the 2.4G spectrum, so it might not work.
