Lol, noob!

Guess my noobiest to memory is when i was sorting out my watercooling loop, powered it on to bleed the system and the res was going down, topped it up thinking all good, air coming out and water going in.

This carries on for 5 mins then i'm wondering why im still filling it up all the time...

Look more into it and the pump was leaking.. turns out when i took the stock top off the O-ring had stuck to the inside of it so when on the aftermarket top it was leaking right out from all sides! To make it worse the huge puddle was on the other side of the PC from where i was sitting filling up so didnt notice!

Spent a good 30 mins trying to work out why until i picked up the stock top and it fell out...

ummm.. just built my i5 setup. the heatsink is the wrong way round, will sort when i get a h50, sides of for now. Oh and i had a few hard drive problems, got to HD, when i was swopping mobo's on og the sata cables msut of dropped out, so being clever i plug both ends of the same cable into my mobo, took me a while to discover where my hd had gone.

Teach me to do a lazy job of a rebuild!

I cant moan I did the same thing with the lap top drives, I spent 3 hours googling trying to find an adapter, then went to a local computer shop, to have the local nerd just pull the connector off, ah well

I noob myself everyday. I still can't put a USB plug into a USB socket the proper way round first time.

+1

I wanted to improve the cooling in my PC at the start of the year so ordered up an arctic 5 cooler. Only when I opened the PC did I realise I already had one.. it'd be in there for ages.

Should have checked what I had! was convinced it was a stock cooler!

USB connectors plugged upside down on the motherboard - you shoulda seen the sparks when I plugged my 16GB flash drive in

Luckily both the motherboard and flash drive survived my incompetence :D

When I started messing around taking computers apart, I decided to change the little black switch on the back of the power supply from 250 to 500.. and switched the pc on with my face right around the back of the pc, it blew it up, smoke and a huge bang, fun times!

Haha, I did this at school, just mindlessly fiddling and killed the brand new "computers for schools vouchers" RM PC. I sloped off quietly and gently..........never found out but forever guilty.

Friend brought over his broken PC for me to look at - IDE cable had come loose.

Didn't think to check that on the phone before he came over :o
