London Bridge Incident

I doubt that. If someone wanted a 9mm gun it would be easy enough. What makes you think it's hard to get a gun?

Jesus the IRA etc over here had guns some armies would love!

No it isn't. UK gangs/criminals normally just have crap handguns that get passed around.

Eh sorry to break it to you bud, but getting hold of firearms in the UK is scary easy, I could probably ring up a couple of guys I went to school with 12 years ago and have some sort of gun in my possession within 24 hours, and something with a decent magazine capacity within a few days.

I have been in the presence of illegal firearms on more than several occasions in my time.

The IRA is very different to your regular criminals or wannabe criminals and gangs.

Let me guess a mac 10?

What I want to know I, if someone in a car is driving over the bridge and sees a guy with a knife trying to stab someone why doesn't the car driver run over the stabber?

Nice idea, but I imagine manoeuvring a car on such a busy bridge to mow down one specific individual is basically impossible.

The police are telling peple to get off the streets / stay inside / run away , also the whole of the london bridge area is on " lock down" ... as is borough market too

Is this confirmed? Am on mobile at the mo in central London and was trying to make my way towards London Bridge to get home...
It looks like people with knifes not guns on the loose. I wouldn't go to London Bridge.

It appears at least one of them has gone south of the bridge via borough market and maybe to Vauxhall Bridge probably along or near the A3 road.

What if you fail and they come after you?

I don't think people are as heroic as easily as you make it sound.

Reverse and drive off? You're in a car...

Same with these groups of people, honestly a single guy with a knife is going to struggle to take on 3 average sized guys if they all approach with intent and encircle...

Because most people would do nothing

There was a psychological test regarding a train travelling out of control and whether or not someone would switch tracks so the train would kill 1 person or leave it to kill a larger number. Most people tested did nothing.

Ofc it's on lockdown there's a gang of machete welding, drug taking, fanatics stabbing up all they can.

A couple of them are probably shot right now and the rest have gone to ground.

What can you say....not much apart from can we have a proper debate now not just another music memorial?

RIP to those killed, some horrific details appearing on social media.

In some kinda movie that would happen, but in real life people dont behave like that.

Not sure people don't react when possible, in the Jo cox case a pensioner got involved and the Polish truck driver linked who lost his life is likely to have had a go. The main reason its not more common for the massive majority to stand up is it would be very hard to process idiot psycho killer as driving through.
