Just a quick heads up because I know a few forum members are fans.

Turns out Vai will be doing a 'Guitar Masterclass' at the 2007 London Guitar show. I always find it such a fun event anyway, but having Vai giving a lesson of some sort there is bound to make it a bit special. And its £5 more than the normal ticket, surely bargaintastic?!

Hope someone finds this useful :p

they're always in London

I remember Marcus Miller did the same thing, couldn't believe I had missed it

Cool, even more reason to go now! My brother and I will be going, I invited the missus but strangely she wasn't up for a day of "guitar porn" :p

I've just booked tickets, including the Steve Vai masterclass, but as yet I haven't got anyone to go with!!

Hopefully in the meantime I will find someone willing to, but I could always eBay them nearer the time to get some money back or offer them up on here.

That will be awesome though, getting the chance to see and hear Steve Vai playing live... mmm yeah.

Anyone still going to this? My bro and I are fired up, it is going to be a corker I reckon :)

Just a heads up, the venue seems to have changed:
Following the massive turnout and incredible success of the last four years, we have moved venue from Wembley to one of Europe's largest, coolest exhibition centres - London's ExCeL, for an even bigger and better 2007 event, showcasing the world's most jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, truly magnificent guitars, Amps, bass and acoustics.

I may very well have a spare ticket going for the Steve Vai lesson at 12.30 if my friend can't go. If anyones interested I could pass it on at the door for the cost of normal entry, so say if you are and I'll let you know!

I'll be there.. coming down from Newcastle.. I think the Automatic are playing Saturday night.. but I can't confirm this.

Yea, got the tickets already, have had them for about 2 months..

Not really going to see Vai, although it is an added bonus.

It's not that expensive either, train tickets to London are only £10 each way.

Remember the Steve Vai tickets are in addition to show tickets - quite an expensive day out to see some atonal shred ;)
My brother booked/bought the tickets for us two (specifying the Vai 2pm slot), are you saying that we will have to pay extra on the door too? I can't get a hold of him to find out if the tickets he purchased are all-inclusive or not

Not that I'm too bothered, it's promising to be a wicked day out and will be top weather - great excuse for a couple of beers at the bar too ;)

And I'm presuing the DLR will be extra on top of getting a travelcard for rail/tube use?

Yeah its one price for Vai, and one for the trade show. You have to pay for both if you want to see both - but you can just see Vai if you want to.

DLR falls under Transport for london so a travelcard for the day covers overground, underground, wombling free, DLR and buses (and the boat on the thames).

er, you might be right then :p

Althought their original plan was to have Steve Vai show on one day and signing the next day - meaning you'd have to buy two tickets. Not sure if that is still the case, but it is a bit cheeky.

Well, I just called my brother and he checked the tickets - the ones he has state they are for the Vai masterclass and also entry to the main exhibition too.. maybe you can buy tickets just for the masterclass, but at least the ones we have are fully-functional :D

Good news re: the DLR too, sussed out the route from Waterloo too so should be a good laugh.

If anyone spots me - I'll probably be wearing blue flared jeans, a green motley crue t-shirt (with black pentagram on front, my fave at the mo) and prob still beardy if I haven't shaved by then - stop me and say hello! I'll probably be hanging around the Ibanez, Digitech and Marshall stands a lot :p

I assume cameras are okay for the venue?

Cameras should be cool, at least I hope so?!

My ticket says with Vai entry on as well and cost £17.

See y'all there. I'll look like another generic member of the public... I'll give anybody there that says "Hi alexthecheese" a tenner. ;)
