Longest game ever

can't believe the amount of time people are putting into WoW! I've always been tempted to try it out but its sounding too addictive to me now, hate to think how much time i've wasted playing games....although i love every minute of it:cool:

Im not addicted.. its just bloody good. I've got a group of great friends inside wow i play with everyday. I even just got back from a lan party in birmingham with them all.

I've already posted my longest game, but as everyone else is posting longest time. Thinking about it, I'd say Legend of Mir 2, probably up in the 2000+ hours :(

Heh, my first mmorpg and i was totally addicted but looking back it was a terible game but i loved it back then. No idea how much i played but was a lot of hours.

No idea on my longest time though, WoW, CS and LOM2 all had a lot of hours put in them but SP wise then one of the championship manager games.

That was a fantastic game, I was really surprised at the time that it didn't get as much praise as it should have gotten and that it wasn't high up on peoples favourite final fantasies. Granted I didn't play it as long as the other games.

Final fantasy games are amazing value for money, if you bought one for £15 you'd probably be getting a minimum of 6 hours entertainment per pound, and that's only if you play once :D

Could probbaly get about 4-5 of them for £15 anyway :p

Why?

270 hours isn't that much considering it's an RPG

I know plenty of people who have put some 500+ hours on Oblivion. Besides, that 270 hours was spread out over 2 and a half years lol Started during my A Levels and finished in the Christmas holidays in my first year at uni

They are pretty much the only games worth their £40-£50 price tag.

Zelda : Majoras Mask, still have not completed it. i am on the last temple i think and got bored of it.

I've put over a thousand hours into Oblivion, and probably over two thousand into Morrowind. But both pale before the godlike Nethack. I played it for years in days when my old PCs were too weak to play anything else, and I still play it. Up to about 90 levels per game, all but about ten of which are randomly generated - and far better than most games manage this. Hundreds of different monsters, dozens of different scrolls, potions, wands, weapons, amulets etc, all of which are randomised between games, and all of which are affected by curse status as well. I've never managed to ascend in any version later than 3.1 - it's just got too hard. And you can ONLY play in hardcore mode (death is once and forever) unless you cheat and backup savegames.

Lets have a new game: Civilization

In terms of total time played It must be civ 1, I played it virtually every day for about 3 years, I have no idea how much time I ran up.

For an individual game I know I spent over 200 hours on an extra large, 31 enemies Always War game in Civ 3, because it tells you at the end :)

I think it would have been more appropriate if I asked the question "whats the longest you've spent on a game" rather than "longest game ever", "longest game ever" depends on who's playing the game really everyone is at different skill levels :)

Guitar Hero 1,2,3 and Rock Band - They have the best replayability, and therefore get the most playtime :p
But FF8 was pretty long for me - and was definatly my FAVOURITE by far :)

Oooo forgot about Guitar Hero, yeah 1 and 2 definitely got a lot of playtime. 3 however, played for about 3 hours before realising I know barely any songs so quit playing it once I finished Career mode

Champ Manager in its various guises, easily more than WoW. Played numerous full careers. Then probably Civ/Civ 2 in a distant second.

WoW wise, my main three characters have racked up a total of 104days played.
