Longest game ever

Played about 600+ hrs on gta sa (multiplayer), about almost the same with mohaa sh, i did play x2 reunion for months and months due to its open endedness. The longest game tho has to be Frontier: Elite 2. I probably played that for a year straight, every day and loved it.

The longest story based game I've played was definitely BG2, which is a good 220 or so hours if you do everything.

As for open ended, sandbox style games... Is there even any point in mentioning them? I can't even imagine how much time I've spent with games like the Civilization series (played since Civ 1 first came out on Amiga in '92 through to Civ 4 today), Europa Universalis, Master of Orion, X-Com, Championship/Football Manager, Elite, Mordor, Daggerfall, Falcon 4.0 and other flight sims. Some of those are games I still keep installed many years on.

Not to mention the probable thousands of hours playing multiplayer Doom, Duke3D, Quake and UT back in the day.

Most time spent overall: Quakeworld. At an extremely rough estimate, 5000 hours
Most time spent on a SP game: Probably CM97/98 or CM'93.

Longest traditional SP game (i.e. linear game that is largely the same each time you play it): Unreal. A really massive game for a FPS. KOTOR runs is fairly close too.

Diablo 2 for single player.
WoW otherwise, i think i might be into 150+ days on that, been playing since release, never done that with a game before

Zelda OTT without a doubt.

Multiplayer games shouldn't really count as they are limitless and defeat the whole purpose of this thread. Warcraft has quite easily taken up the most of my gaming time but at 2 and a half years that comes to £270 . Thank god i quit as it was starting to become a quite expensive drug habit :P

Gran Turismo 3 probably, im sure i spent at least 1000 hours playing that, but i have completed both FF7 and 8 through from scratch every year since release, so im not sure. Probably close to 1000 hours for each of those too.
