End of 2000 when still on vbb iirc. Forum then got hacked so in Mar 01 switched over to vBulletin, then the big nuke in Oct 02 due to the database getting so large the site was very slow.

I signed up looking for tips on overclocking my athlon 700 slot A, then spent many thousands over the next few years on ge-forces, radeons, thunderbirds, thoroughbreads, bartons, coolermasters etc. Then gave up on all that when I was old enough to drive and found a new hobby to waste money on!

Many people here will have a joining date of October 2002. OcUK forums were around for quite a bit before that but there was a big purge at that time and everyone had to sign back up again. I can't remember exactly when I joined but it was certainly a couple of years before the purge. This place has changed a lot since then :)

i signed up for the overclocking sections initially in around 2000

then i realised most people were just running the same hardware as everyone else (something which still goes on, and i have noticed in other sections as well). the number of AXIA Athlons on KT7-A's was insane, then all of a sudden the KT7A was rubbish and everyone had Iwill motherboards, then an Epox....

oh and there was a forum-wide obsession with jack daniels and referring to each other as sir...

Some of those names are a blast from the past.

Good to see Ridd's up there, he is sadly no longer with us.

Brings back lots of good memories for me.
