I thought I would ask this question as im sat in an office at 4:00am in the morning looking forward to the end of this 12hour shift so I can go sleep.

I've prolly gone 36 hours without sleep, not really hardcore

Last few days before my dissertation had to be handed in. I woke up on the Friday, around 9am, and worked straight through the weekend until the hand in date and time on the Monday which was 11am. I then went out drinking and lasted half a pint before I walked home and went to sleep, so it was probably 75/76 hours in total.

What did you get on your dissertation?

Longest i've ever gone without sleep is probably 3 days and 2 nights. Fell asleep on the 3rd night.

hmm, I PLAN to do my dissertation over a long period of time. Have to see if that ever materialises though :p

lol i once did a all nighter at my first lan part years ago...never knew my eyes could feel like tht after only missing one nights sleep....never compared to ** 2/3 days but i got the feeling...not nice

tbh doin 24 hours is hard, trying to find something to do while the rest of the household is asleep not as if i can go downstairs and start watching tv! :(
most i've done is a LAN also, about 24 hours tbh

I went 58 hours once when working against a deadline on an engineering project. I was a ******* WRECK. I hould never have done it as I think my productivity went way down. Down to the point that it would have been more beneficial to take an hour off to sleep.

50 something hours i think, around the point of 20-24 hours is the hardest bit i find, you start feeling like "if i just put my head down just a secon....*clonk*" and your out like a light but once you push through that 24-26 hours mark you suddenly perk up again and feel fine :S

Sometimes I can stay up for hours and not feel a thing, other times I feel it really badly to the point my eyes get so blurry it gets hard to see.

Point to all: Never cut onions with tired eyes.

on tour with the band, breaking down and stuck in valencia for 3 days.

waking up at 8am in valencia, picking up a broken van at 12pm. transferring all our kit into the fixed van by 1pm (all drums and guitar amps etc), then driving from valencia to calais (little over 1000miles)
getting the ferry to dover, driving to camberley.
dropping off the kit, dropping off the van, going to the pub to eat and drink, 10pm to bed.
was a total of 38 hours not including the time difference. and plenty of lifting and driving.

was worth it though.

73 hours

houseparty on a thursday kicked it off, then continued all through friday, went clubbing friday night, back to houseparty for saturday, clubbing saturday night, back to house for sunday, and when my brain blacked out for 4 seconds whilst walking into my mate's lounge around 8am, I decided it was my body telling me to get some sleep, lol

slept til about 7pm, went home, studied for my first matric exam (A-level equivilant in South Africa) for 3 hours, slept til the next day, went to school, wrote exam, got 84% :D

One Sunday till Thursday and during a work week, I feel asleep the Thursday night, not sure how many hours that was but iirc I called in sick on the friday. Not sure what caused it and not sure how it happened, but I just had a burning headache all the time that would not go with pills. I was about 19 at the time, can't see that ever happening again though and nothing has even come close since.

I've only gone about 36 hours tops but some of my university pals skipped two nights in a row to get their final hand-in work finished. I'm telling you now they looked like zombies at that point and were near delerious. They all dropped off fairly soon after the first pint after the midday hand-in :D
