True, don't sit it directly on the case. Still, if you are sure you want to cut the case up then choose a run of the mill case, not a Coolermaster. You would only regret cutting it mate.

there is a possibility of making up a 80mm blanking plate that will cover the rear 80mm fan mounting and have two holes in it to accomodate the watercooling pipe.

Oh now that would be a great idea! seeing as your water cooling i guess you don't need that fan!
