As the title says,im lookin for a cable that will allow me to conect and run 3 fans off of a single PWM header

I got one of these and installed it along with my new case http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-079-AK&groupid=1929&catid=153

It doesnt work as intended however, the 3 fans on it just run at 100% speed all the time,so its not quiet as im intendeding.

Anyone reccomend a cable to do that job,my only other major concern is that its braided

Connected to this header are 2 bit fenix spectres and one cougar vortex airflow(all 120mm). I tried the cable i linked without pluggin in the sata to psu connector to see if the header alone could power the 3 fans, none of them turn on at however

So are these fans of the 3 pin or the 4 pin variety?

Those pwm splitters only allow control of pwm fans.

To control 3 pin fans when the motherboard doesn't allow fine control of fans is possible using a circuit like that below in my signature, or the phanteks offering which doesn't come with adjustment

The bitfenxi fans are 3 pin,the Cougar is 4pin PWM

hmmm odd

I been running both bitfenix fans off the same header with akaska 2pwm fan spliter no problems for the last 6 months,my mobo can raise/lower the RPM's depending on temp no problem(from what i can tell the giga Sniper bios actually use voltage control for fan settings,i think)

Ive used one bitfenix fan and another pwm fan from the same splitter with both fans working correctly according to my bios Temp/PWM curve aswell.

I actually just tried plugging 2 different PWM fans in to the splitter(on their own,the others disconnected) and same issue.Always at 100% speed :(

I've used BitFenix Spectres before and they are practically silent at 12v as they don't spin that fast or push much air. Are yours different for some reason?

Just wondering if you've actually taken them out and connected them individually to have a listen to just them. So that if you found they were quiet on 12v... that's one thing taken care of.

Now the Pro versions, those push more air and are a bit noisy on 12v, so I preferred those on 7v.

Odd. Can you confirm if one of those fans was connected to the only cable out of the five with the RPM feedback?

Yea the Spectre fans are generally;y pretty quiet at 12v

So i spent the morning trying out different combos, setups with this splitter

No matter it cannot change the speeds based on pwm or voltage.Every fan weather on its own,or if with others, regardless of which connector it connects too, alwasy goes at max speed.

Not only that but it seems to overvolt the fans too.

My 1000rpm BF fans spin at 1200rpm. My 1500rpm Enermax fans spin at 1650rpm,my cougar 1200rpm fans spin at 1300rpm.

This explains why the fans connected to it seemed so loud :/

Allround disappointing buy,at least it was only £5 odd

Taken a punt on aphoybia 3PWM splitter(doesnt require connection to PSU) hopefully it will do the trick.

If not will prob just have to grab a PWM hub or fan controller
