Looking for a couple of games to play over Xmas.

Surely you don't need people to do that for you....

No, I don`t, I am quite capable searching the net, but thanks for the interest.
Would it hurt to post a link of a good review or bargain sale, if you happen to come across one.
Or are you not the helpful sort.:(

Everyone has been helpful but name89 is right, asking people to link to reviews and daily deals is just plain lazy.

Anyway to say Sleeping Dogs is "cartoony" is ridiculous. My recommendation would be Far Cry 3. Comparing it to FC1 is like comparing chalk and cheese.

Merry xmas and happy gaming :)

Other than the fact that they're open world 3rd person games, Sleeping Dogs is nothing like GTA IMHO. Virtually no guns, exceptional hand to hand combat, and an incredibly tight story. Don't let your GTA predjuices put you off what is one of my games of the year.

Thanks a lot guys, been some great suggestions.

So far I have Darksiders II and Homefront. Managed to play an hour of each and will definitely be playing these over Xmas.

Have also found a lot of walkthroughs for various games mentioned to see if they might change my opinion. Always get a better feel for games, watching some of these.

Will update at the end of the week what games I have gotten.

Bought the F.E.A.R collection in the Steam sale. Really loved the first 2, but the 3rd just does`nt` feel the same. Been playing it for about an hour and finding it hard to get into the game.

Have a question concerning Steam games. I am looking at buying one of their special packs in the sale but don`t think I will keep all the games. What I want to know is, if I play one of the games and don`t like it, can I give it or them away.

I know you do not play online games but i really think you should give Dungeon Defenders a try with some mates or people on here...it's a very very unique type of game with rpg elements in it aswell.(it's £9.99 for the complete package on Steam that gives a hell of a lot of content)

You can play it singleplayer too but good fun with friends.

Edit: Forgot about the Humble Bundle deal where you can get it far cheaper with other games too.

Update.

Played the F.E.A.R trilogy and enjoyed them, even 3 with it`s ME2 type ending. Just got the DLC`s to play.

Starting to get into Darksiders, bit different to what I am used to playing, but enjoyable none the less.

Played Homefront, was`nt to bad, bit short.

Got bored and even tried Saints Row 2 and lasted about 5 minutes, but was`nt that bored.. Graphics were totally crap, guard opens door and then walks through the wall, lmfao.

So, thanks again for some great suggestions.
