Looking for a CPU to pair with a 4090

Looking to pair a CPU with a 4090, but which ones should i get? here are some of my concerns at the moment.
Top priority is 3D work Blender , Maya, UE5 followed by gaming. Power consumption , cooling and running cost are also in my mind. the 4090 is already power hungry and expensive.

7950X3D - too expensive and a little fiddly with how is operates.
What do you mean by fiddly?

Be my guest, more the merrier, everyone is here to help that's is why its such a good forum. i hope everyone can help you out with your decision as well.
The 7800X3D is going to be £100-150 more than the 7700X which will give you almost the same performance in none gaming stuff. You should stop worrying about bottlenecking things, there is always a bottleneck, if you improve one thing it moves to another thing. For the type of software you use, I would get a minimum of a 7700X, anything above that will improve things but I don’t know how much as the GPU is doing the heavy lifting. You could get a 7600(none-X) and that would probably be fine although the price difference between the x and none-X is so small I would get the X.

i think i can afford that with my budget. i am either going to get the 7800X3D or the 7950X. This will depend on the price and reviews of the 7800X3D when it is out in two weeks time.

Unless you're spamming f5 on all the stores on release day you probably wont be getting one for a few months so plenty of time to read reviews and save a few pennies.

i've not built a new rig in 10 years i can wait a month or two. surprised this one is still going tbh.
in saying that with AMD holding these chips back, obvious the main aim was to get everyone who could not wait to buy the 7950X3d and 7900X3d. That may of also given AMD time to get more 7800X3D units manufactured. so supply might be not as bad as it could be.

Does OCUK charge you for pre orders or only when the item is shipping? If I am going to miss out on a 7800X3D I don't want to be a few hundred quid poorer for a month or two at least, thats just cruel!
