Looking for a new mouse

Im quite liking the look of the Adder, im not sure where I could hold them first round here though.

How long is it? I prefer a shorter mouse to the tradtional shape (eg a microsoft mouse) for gaming.

Stick with optical until laser technology matures a little!

If you like the 'logitech shape' - get a logitech mx518
**If you don't and are right-handed - get a razer deathadder**
**If you don't and are left-handed - get a razer diamondback/pro click v1.6**
If you are a throwback to a bygone era - get a microsoft intellimouse explorer 3 :p
If you want to be a 'gosu' rts player - get a logitech mini optical/razer krait

** - Both of these options will become the Diamondback 3G once it is released.

One last note is that if you were ever a fan of ye olde Razer Boomslang with the ridiculously huge buttons, they will be releasing a new version with the modern 3G sensor later this year.

Read quite a few reviews of the Death Adder now and all are raving about it :)

One did have a photo of it side by side a Krait though and it looked much bigger, Im guessing this doesnt cause anyone any probs?

I bought a G5 2 weeks ago, and slightly disappointed because it's sensitivity it restricted to 5 steps and only 1 left button for mouse. My brother's razer has more than enough buttons and on-the-fly sensitivity can be anything from 1-10 (so to speak). So, I would suggest spending that extra fiver for a razer. Wish I had got one instead.

Ok I think im set on a Razor now..just which one :D

So far im thinking Death Adder but at the size of an intelimouse that sounds quite big for a gaming mouse. My v500 is a notebook mouse so I guess anything will be big compared..I like be able to through round with my fingers though.

Love my MX518 but not used many others tbh. Almost bought a Deathadder until i found you can't change the sensitivity on the fly and i'd miss it too much.

But I really lurve the look of the new G9! Might be a purchase for me. Out spetember by the looks of things.

I have Razer Copperhead and love it, the improvement over a "normal" mouse is much improved, just feels so much more responsive

I don't have it stupidly sensitive, and i'm not as much as a gamer as some people i know but i bought one anyway seeing as i do quite a lot of what i will call "mouse-intensive" things, ie programs that require high accuracy of the mouse or with very little keyboard shortcuts (PS, music production - though strictly amateur with lots of vsts going needs mouse accuracy) and having on-the-fly sensitivity is a godsend

Also contrary to a post further up i have found it less fussy over different surfaces. I also have a microsoft optical mouse which wouldnt work with my mousemat, the razer copes amazingly and can run on pretty much anything i've found that isn't glass or perspex

Having never used a logitech mouse i can't compare them but i can't fault the razer

MX Revolution here ace mouse and wireless i use it and im a fps player its brilliant, paired with a g15 its even better

I was under the impression that both the vx and mx revolution use the same sensor as the older mx1000. If that's the case then I would steer you away from it for gaming purposes. I say that because I can make my mx1000 skip so easily and I'm not even moving that fast (during something like cs deathmatch).

OK well thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated.

I think im gonna wait for the 3G and if I dont like that for any reason itll be an Adder :)
