Looking for advice on Ultrawide purchase.

Have you got it yet?.
Yeah - works great. I am getting used to taskbar hiding lol. It did offer to a screen refresh or something for 8 minutes mid-video game which seemed odd. It doesn't do USB-PD which is a bit annoying, but the USB-C/DP adaptor seems rock solid.

Holding off for the moment as my Mother has passed away.
Sorry to hear that --- best wishes

I received my one last week and you'll honestly be blown away by it!
Thanks, yeah, looking forward to it.
How do you find the resolution in terms of compatibility with games?.
Any games you've come across that don't support it?..workarounds?.

I've been using UW for a number of years and 99% of modern games support UW with correct UI scaling etc.

Older games sometimes struggle but that's where tools like Flawless Widescreen come in.

Benefit of an OLED is that worst case scenario, just set it to 2560*1440 and the edges will just be black so it'll be just like playing on a standard 1440p monitor!

@Casdawer What about firmware, did you find it needed updating?.
I see on the manual it is done through Displayport - USB-c.
Do you find that the Alienware branding on the front is too big or is it discreet?, it's a job to tell from the pictures.

I set it up this morning.
Literally just booted into windows to test.
Had to go onto work, but wow.
Like someone said before, when it's off it looks on, as the panel is so 'black'
Can you leave the main display port - displayport cable plugged in, then use the separate USB-c - displayport to update firmware?.
Haven't had a chance to look at any manuals etc.

you would have the display port cable plugged in and the usb upstream cable to update the firmware

Excellent monitor I have the dw version with the sync module. I would say make sure to install the monitor drivers and update the colour to be 10 bit rather than the default 8. The only annoying thing is the constant installing of the Alienware software through usb.
