From what you've said there, that seems like an unnecessarily high-end board? Is there a feature I'm missing that you need?

I'd just flat out pony up the extra for a 9800X3D if you've a flexible budget and only game.

The motherboard is an odd one, could be worth going for a 48-64gb set depending on the games you do play. While 32gb is fine in most instances there are titles that benefit from more, especially if you ever mod things. Cities Skylines for example will use as much as you've available and still be left wanting if you go nuts, and there's a few others out there to boot.

Spending £400 on a motherboard is insane in this sense given you could spend half as much and get more RAM and a stronger CPU for the difference.

May I ask, are you building a streaming rig? If so that isn't just gaming and would skew suggestions a tad.

I was thinking of sticking 1 or 2 more nvme's. But I could downgrade the Mobo.

MSI MPG B650 Edge WIFI (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard?

If I was buying a highish end platform now I'd do this:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £209.99 (includes delivery: £0.00)

It's very hard to beat for the price point, has (most) of your needs.

Mostly just streaming games

Lane sharing I think. I dont exactly know the term but its like, If I wanted to stick more nvme's without hindering the performance of the gpu. But yeah, I could downgrade the mobo a bit and go for what Gray2233 recommends. And a bit future proofing for upcoming games like gta6?
Thank you

It is complicated because every motherboard is different, but when USB4 is present (any X870/X870E) you'd usually expect lane sharing on 1 or more of the M.2 slots. The majority of boards do not have an issue with running 2x M.2 (so long as you choose the right ones to use).

3x M.2 slots or especially 4x M.2 slots (this one is super tricky with current gen boards), you have to be more careful with the choice and even dig into the manual. Unless there's an explanation somewhere like this (timestamps in the description):

You're over thinking, if you must upgrade and do stream right now buy the board I suggested and put the difference into a 4tb primary drive, and then you've at least one good secondary.

Drive speeds for your usage will rarely if ever matter anyway.

You may need a few more fans for the fractal north as it comes with only 3 front 140mm fans.

You could alternatively go aio water cooler and put it in the roof of that case.
