Looking to upgrade my HD6950 (Accidentally ordered a GPU too big!)

241.3mm.

Search "evga 970 sc blower" - one of the top results.

Its a tad more expensive, but ill go with http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-264-EA if you think it will be a better fit in my Antec 300 case, in order to keep the temps low. (I think this card is actually smaller than my 6950!)

Edit: Although, a guy DID say before

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=GX-264-EA

but from my quick half assed googling, it seams a little loud. if you dont care about the noise, then this might be the one for you, but fan noise is important to me so I wouldnt have it.

then there is the proper "titian" style cooler

hell no get the ACX cooler!
why would you get a blower, your airflow isn't bad as proved by all the dust :)
there's a hole on the side the case right by the card and another ontop the case right?

A hole on the case panel and on the top. There is a fan on the top hole, too. Eh, now i'm conflicted.

this why you should read reviews instead of listening to the advice of random people on the internet lol

except my advice on NOT spending £20 for cans of compressed air, that was excellent :)

...not same card but same cooler

I've read a couple of reviews, but the jargon... good god.

Well, at least im down to only 2 choices

okay well the blower type are more for tiny cases or multiple cards
its not worth the extra when it will perform worse in your case

just my opinion :)

I see. Screw it, ill go for the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-263-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010

worst possible situation is ill have to cool my pc with extra fans and use diddums advice.

Just for the record, the blower I linked is perfectly fine. If it wasn't, EVGA wouldn't sell it. Simple as that. They're arguably the best brand available for Nvidia cards and wouldn't put their reputation on a cooler which doesn't perform.

I also had the same cooler for about 8 months on my GTX 770 and it worked a treat. Quiet too, although that's very much contextual.

Get the galax infinity black if it fits. Best 970 for the money. One of the best coolers, backplate, built in a 980 board (so better components, but more power efficiant than regular 970s). No brainer...if it fits

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-010-GX

270mm, it fits

But ive already ordered http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-263-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010
(Although it hasn't been shipped yet)

OCUKs own 970 version? That sounds awesome.

Fair enough mate, it's a great card nonetheless, jist make sure you have a bit of ventilation in your case ;)

I had the Evga and tbh it looks cheap as hell and had mega coilwhine. Swapped it for a G1, has tiny coilwhine but is a solid card! Comes with a backplate and lights up.

Evga are ditching that card and releasing a revamped version as the cooler is only using 2 heat pipes! The fan is really noisy but only kicks in at 60C which was a nice feature, the trouble is to keep it cool then on in it needs to have high fan speeds which are pretty loud.

The card is plastic and doesnt really look like a £280 card, the Galax would be a better card all round but it does only have 2 years warranty.

My order of the EVGA has been cancelled. Now i'm free to order http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-010-GX

I'm going to order today. I wish OCUK would list card dimensions, though.
Edit: The dimensions ARE listed. Whoops
