Not seen too many folks talking about this yet but is anyone else looking forward to the new Lords of the Fallen? It comes out on Friday and looks awesome, full seamless co-op and I love the two world mechanic. Elden Ring was my GOTY last year and I thought, after Starfield, that Baldurs Gate 3 would be unchallenged for my GOTY this year but perhaps LOTF just might give it a run if it turns out good.

struggling to get enthused with anther souls like game, feel pretty burnt out on them now. Apart from the lantern mechanic not sure if it does anything new

Other than the two world mechanic and the seamless co-op from start to finish, I dont think it does do anything new as such

Yep. Been waiting a long time for this. There's been a few souls likes over the last year or so but this one easily looks the best since Elden Ring.

Really like the dark fantasy setting, combat looks great from what I've seen. Plenty of depth to the gameplay with different ways to play. To be honest I'd be happy with just a polished souls like experience with a new fantasy world to explore but there's quite a lot of extra bits thrown in to make it even more interesting.

New launch trailer got added today. Looks good:

I picked it up for £30 on cdkeys (using a few quid off that I have on my cdkeys account), looking forward to giving it a try over the weekend

Just noticed Deck13 aren't developing this one. Kind of a shame as I thought they'd got their formula pretty well-tuned by The Surge 2.

Reviews aren't out yet, are they?

I'll probably play it at some point regardless because it's a Souls-like and I basically end up playing them all eventually :)

I'm probably going to grab this, £36 for Std edition on CDKeys seems reasonable to me vs £50 on Steam.

I completed 3 runs of Lies of P, really good souls like that was free on Xbox Game Pass if anyone was after a good souls like as well beyond this one.

I enjoyed the first one (got it for £5 several years ago) visually it was one of the best games I'd played till that point and still holds up well today, the twist they've done with 2 worlds on this looks interesting after watching Lirik play it for a while, I'll pick it up but it's not a must buy at launch.

"Lords of the Fallen will feature 30 bosses to fight towards three unique endings. In addition, the game has 13 player classes with four of them secret, 194 weapons and shields, 76 spells and catalysts, and 339 armor pieces"

Certainly sounds like its going to have some decent content length, wonder what the 4 hidden classes are.

It's interesting (and amusing) to me to read the reviews for this. They all read like how they would review Souls games if they could be honest and not p**s off the FromSoftware fanbase, similar to how I see very few reviewers really being honest when reviewing games from the big publishers or ones with rabid fans (Nintendo, Sony etc.)

Looks like the 8/10s that I'm seeing at most places seems to be about the average....unless you are Eurogamer of course :D
