losing a dog,

You are an idiot if you think losing a pet is in any way comparable to losing a child.

I personally cannot comprehend anybody putting that level of importance on a pet.

Your a true hero mate, maybe you should have your own talk show or something?

Why do you feel the need to judge a person solely based on the fact that he truly grieves for the loss of a pet in the amount someone would grieve for a child?

Ive never had children and never want them, the day I lost my cat of 10 years I was completely destroyed and will never forget that day. The human race is deeply flawed and we've got a rather a lot to learn before we even come close to being perfect.

This is a great thread with a lot of genuine feelings flying about, why don't you find that hole you crawled out of slide back in and close the lid.

233 sorry to hear about your dog.

My dad has two Alsatians. I am a grown man, but last year I split with my girlfriend of 6 years to go back to my parents devastated to be greeted with his, or 'our' dog who wasn't well collapse and die in his arms as I went through the front door. A year on and I still miss and love that damn dog. I wish I could bring her back. I have grieved for that dog and still do more than family who have passed on! x. She was 10, it must be especially hard when yours has died so young.

We lost our dog 2 years ago, we was such a champion. He got run over when my brother took him for a walk, he was only 5. I still think about him every day.

However he will live again one day, I put his dead body on ice and then took him to a university to extract the sperm from his dead balls the next morning.

A prime example.
I am a bad vile person because I value human life, especially the life of own flesh and blood, above that of an animal even though I still value animal life.

You on the hand are not a vile person despite expression the kind of hateful, spiteful, aggressive and confrontational trash such as the stuff quoted.

I have lost two children, and many many pets, and believe me you simple minded ****wit the two do not compare.

You cannot even begin to understand the pain and the anguish you go through watching your child die.

Sorry for your loss mate. It was soul destroying when we lost our staffy, I swear a little part of me died inside that day. My heart goes out to all of you.

My family and I had a small "Dashalier" for 13 years. He was at work with my Step Dad, and got clipped by a passing car. I was terribly sad, because I had grown up with him. I wouldn't liken the experience to losing a family member, however.

Oh well now you have started throwing personal insults around I have changed my mind and completely agree with you

I don't believe that anybody said losing a Dog/pet was the SAME as losing a child/family member, now you are just being retarded!

I re-iterate Same DOES NOT equal like.

oh and 233, that dog is just TOO cute :D

Sorry for your loss, Lovely looking dog, I have a staffie with the same brindle coat

although we'll never replace our Zara who we've just lost the house feels empty and lifeless now, most probably with kids being away as well certainly doesn't help.

Wife and I took a little trip out today and this is the result

this little of fun, who unfortunately doesn't have a name yet will be joining us a week today once she turns 8 weeks.

think a ocuk thread to name her might be a very bad idea before anyone suggests it

When I was 11 we lost our Rottweiler called "Nero", many happy memories with him, such a calm and tolerant dog, always protective, he was about the same age as me in human years. from what I remember he had some sort of cancer

Yep, im not joking. I am paying every year to keep his boys frozen. We have a new puppy now but when I am ready the old dog will live again. I may even clone him as you can get it done now but its a little expensive.

I know it sounds strange but I was a medical student at the time so I had a good idea what is and is not possible.
