Lost Bitcoins Man is still trying

i dunno about that @SpellowHouse ... i bet the mail paid her a decent sum for their exclusive.

besides.... she says she does not want a penny of his cash, given he is the father of 2 kids with her i suspect that view would change if he suddenly became worth £500mil

I don't think I have ever thrown out a harddrive in my life, due to data security. The only time I remember doing something was stripping apart my first ever PIII PC and dismantle the HDD to the point I could physically bent the platter.

It was way too time consuming and since then I just left them around. There are at least half a dozen HDD around that I have not booted up in at least 10 years.

Same, but what do we know? He is an "IT expert" after all

I don't know how I would cope with thinking that I'd done that, but it really can't be good for him and his life endlessly obsessing over recovering his fortune.

It's one thing to spend 6 months trying to sort it out, it's another still obsessing over it years later.

I don't think you can know without being there.
I can totally see how it can ruin your life. I think I'd probably never let go. I wouldn't be doing what he's doing. But not sure I could shed the guilt/regret etc

His girlfriend did it.
I dont think I believe this.
I am sure all of us would let our partners go through and throw anything away from our technology collection right?
But also, this has been going on for years, why not admit it was his gf before? Did he have a gf before? or is this his new gf that realises there is possibly millions sitting in a bin of nonsense?

His story has changed throughout the years.

I've heard versions which say he chucked it away himself and there are other reports saying it was his girlfriend. This was a year ago.

Like others have said he'd have sold it at many points along the way.
At least some of it.

I can't believe him suing the council is even being entertained or banded around.

Wonder how much he's making selling his story over and over.

Yeah, I was going to say, my mum would be such a woman. She used to throw people's stuff out all the time. If your belongings were in her house, she considered them her property to do with as she wanted.

My mum loved to hide stuff, and her reasons were sometimes insane. I once left two CDs on a shelf, did she tidy both of them away, nooooooo. She tidied away one because she didn't like the colour, but left the other one which was ok because it was a similar colour to a vase that was on a completely different shelf.

I totally agree it would ruin someone's life. I'm just not convinced that constantly dredging it up by doing media interviews and bringing it up would be the best approach to moving past it.
