Lost my Dog

That sucks and I'm really sorry :(... but at the end of the day it's a dog, not a family member. If you really need to fly home just to tell your wife it's dead then I think she's anthropomorphised it a bit too much. Awesome to hear she's recovering well from cancer though, I've lost a few people I know from it and it's a horrible thing.

Taxidermy is odd and creepy IMO but I know people do it so to each his own. See if the wife agrees.

Sorry for your loss OP but am I the only one that cant get past the whole putting the dog in ice thing as the first port of call :/

OP: Fair enough I guess...But seriously, if my dog got ran over, my first thought wouldn't be "OMG put him on ice I'm going to breed from his dead body!!!", I'd either be crying or going mental.

As has been said, sorry for your loss and all, but wanting to breed from it NOW and wanting to stuff it (each to their own here really) is a bit odd...I'd rather be wanting to let the dog rest rather than chop it's go-nads off, in fact, it's go-nads should have been long gone already really.

sorry for your loss. Until this year the only pets I ever owned were goldfish and hamsters. I never really understood how people could be so upset over losing cats/dogs before Having owned my first ever dog for 5 months now I am finally beginning to understand the emotional bond and already dread the da I lose him!
 
There's quite a few peeps taking the **** in this thread. Now if their brand new i5-2500k etc died it would bother them more than an innocent animal being killed. What is the world coming to?

Exaggerated accusation based on no evidence hence worthless.

The animal died. That's too bad. But to fly home just to tell your wife it's dead? Come on.

Even if my mum died I wouldn't fly somewhere to tell my bro, I'd just phone him then fly at the next opportunity. And my mum is worth a lot more than a dog.

Well its a long weekend my wife and I live in different countries so its nice to spend the weekend with her and the rest of the family anyway.

Its been a few days now and in the cold light of day I am still happy that I have frozen his sperm. Yes its a little strange and we may never use it but at least we have the option if we want to.
